    AC stops blowing air

    Hi guys,

I just bought a 2016 Viper GTS Track Pack. This is the first Viper I own so I've really no idea on issues on them. So I created this thread because since I've read how Viper A/C sucks and stuff, I've not read of them stopped blowing air out of the vents. The A/C seems to cool great but just for about 15 minutes. After that it just stops blowing air through the vents even though on the highest possible. Have any of you guys experience this before? Any suggestions on what should I inspect or recommend to the dealer?

PS: I know the car is 2016 and that it has warranty but I forgot to mention that the car is a Twin Turbo one and that it has a Motec and not the OEM ECU lol !!

The things you mention don't necessarily void the A/C warranty. I would take it to the dealer for stuff like that that is unrelated to Powertrain since you still have a warranty. I didn't realize they had a "Track Pack" option in 2016, but it would make for a great option with the TT.

Lol. This was so damn funny. Anyways, don't you even think of taking this kind of build to a dealership! Your best option would be to take it to who built it or some other Viper shop you trust. Calvo in Texas is where I would start. However if you really want to try your luck at warranty coverage I would get in contact with Flatout on here.

I have yet to hear anyone with a Gen V say the A/C sucks.

LOL, yeah, that was pretty damn funny!

Given the OP's sig, I'm going to assume that the car is in Puerto Rico. If so, you might as well start at the dealer and see where that goes. What's the worse that could happen? They say no? So what. You can then just take it somewhere else.

That said, an A/C issue is not the end of the world. It's either the blower, compressor or condenser. All easy fixes.

Or it could just be low on R-134 causing it to freeze up. OP, When it stops blowing cold if you turn the A/C off and let the car sit does a big puddle form underneath? If yes, this would be the ice melting. Happened a lot to my Gen 4s but not on my Gen 5s. And by the way, the A/C on a Gen 5 works great despite what you may have been told. Mine will freeze your nuts off.
