    Com Coupe Rear Windshield

Are the comp coupe rear windshields still available, or just make one from Lexan?

Contact Complete Performance Motorsports or DMS South. They would know your options.

    Steve,

Lance, Ben and I got new rear lexan window from Tom Francis in the fall. Our order was part or a 20 unit(?) special run he did for various owners. Check if he still has them? If your in a bad way, reach out to Lance, I don't think he installed his yet.

    Thanks Simms..!

    Mike,

I've been cleaning up the car and getting it ready for a track day soon. Decided to buff out the rear windshield, its not busted or cracked, I just cant get the damn thing clean. There is a grunge like film over the entire thing and it gets clump up in big spots. I've tried a few solvents, goo b gone, buffing compound. That stuff does not want to come off.

It has a new front, so I'm good there. Will probably try Tom Francis. We do have a great shop here, Precision Plastics, they could probably do it too.

Yeah, mine was old and the new one looks really great. I'm not sure how to clean up the old one. As a note, making a copy of the window isn't too hard for a pro, but getting all the attachment holes correct is pretty tricky.

    Steve,

Have you called Tom Francis? About this time last year he reached out to get a run made. I wrote back to EHX that we got them in September 2017. Cost was $645 plus $35.00 shipping, but he shipped 3 or 4 to Dan Cragin so shipping only 1 might be more. In addition, we spent about $100.00 for new hardware.

I screwed around with Optic Armor for about 6 months prior, they took my money then kept telling me they'd make one for me. (I did get a refund) Ironically, I think OA did the run for Tom.

    Steve,

I found a local source that can duplicate them precisely from mine. Mine is not cracked or damaged, just cloudy and scratched. Precision Plastics in Clovis Ca is the place. They can get a 3/16" 4'x8' and cut 2 rear windows from the sheet, a 4x8 sheet is around $600,(Polycarbonate with the dipped scratch resistant coating on both sides). They can cut out the fuel dock area, bevel the edge and drill out the mounting holes, the labor is $150 per window. So 2 windows could be had for under $500 each. They would not have the Blacked out area covering the mounting area. I would probably take to a tint shop and have them do it.

Let me know if you are interested and we could split the cost for two.

Here in Nascar country the blacked out area is done with a rattle can of satin black. Mock the window in place. Then trace inside of the mounting flange with a sharpie. Use the sharpie line as a guide for masking the window. Spray the outter edge let dry and install.

snopro, you'll get a much quicker response if you call Tom.

He got/built a batch of rear windows a year or so ago for a number of us out here.

I have used front if he doesn't have a new front.
