    ACR or ACR E wing height

    Can anyone please measure how high the front lid of the wing seats in relation to the trunk ? Street setting if that is an issue.

    Thanks !

    I got 9-1/4” on my ACR-E but it’s not an easy measurement to be precise. Could be 9-3/8” but definitely not 9-1/2”. It’s set on the standard #2 position.

    Be careful here as the angle of attack for the wing is going to be the most important aspect of how it sits.

    If you are just measuring to get the entire assembly somewhere close to where the OEM wing sits, then that is fine as long as you take care with the angle of the assembly once you choose the height for the supports (and then a better question might be how tall the stanchion supports are at front and back).

    whatever height that perfectly makes the rearview mirror useless

    that depends on the curb of the wing, I agree. We are just taking an already tested wing that is 185cm long and just make custom stands and end caps similar to the ACR ones. Also we must modify the wing to keep the distance between the stands on the factory location on the trunk and made a custom laser cut plate to fit in the location inside the trunk.
    So as long as we keep the angle mounts of the wing we should be ok.
    Other question right now....can someone measure these ? Red, white, green and blue line ? Thanks again for your trouble

    Which brand of wing are you going to use?

  9. #9
    ACR-E wing
    Red=13-3/4”
    Blue=15-3/4”
    Green=10-3/8”
    White=8” or so depending on exactly where you measure

    It doesn't look as good as the factory wing, but you'll be 10mph+ faster on longer straights, plus greatly decrease your braking distance.

    Almost done with the wing project, will post some pics soon after painting.
    Does somebody knows if the acr uses different gas strut for the trunk because of the wing weight ? Also different pop up actuators ?

    Yes they do use a different strut, the non-acr strut wont hold the hatch up at all.
    And good question about the pop up actuators, that might be the issue I've had with my hatch sticking recently. I'll look into this in the next few days.

    I believe all with a wing have the same struts and pop ups, unique from non winged cars.

    So did you confirm the ACR pop ups are indeed different?

    Here's the part number right off the struts on my ACR:

    Still a long way to go, but getting there:

    - 5 blade diffuser with the side ones extended
    - ACR like canards
    - 185 cm big wing with ACR like end plates
