    Power Steering Pump pulley update

    Hi All,
Recently I made the decision to change my power steering pump pulley to the IPSCO one and also replace the bracket that is prone to crack.
On Saturday I started pulling it all apart to find the the bracket had already been replaced, presumeably by a previous owner :-) More importantly, the black plastic pulley, on inspection is actually metal !! It is identical in appearance, color and size to the black plastic pulley, but metal. So I put it all back together.
Has anyone seen this metal pulley previously and are there any issues with it before I put my IPSCO pulleys etc up on the classified?

As I recall, one could order black pulley from JonB at PartsRack...and, yes, I have seen one.

Here's how I understand it. Roe Racing used to sell a kit (and may still) with the GEN I pulley that was metal and a new billet aluminum bracket designed for the GEN I pulley with some spacers. This is probably what you have. It's fine and a definite improvement over the stock GEN II setup.

IPSCO manufacturers and sells both parts made from billet aluminum.

I have the ROE kit. The pulley is steel and is painted black. It looks almost identical to the OEM pulley. In fact it fooled a well known Viper Tech.
