    Why don't you like Eibachs?

I've read on here that a few of your are dumping your Eibachs for other setups. Why? Harsh ride quality, bounciness, etc? Comtemplating a set of Eibachs on stock Koni's vs. doing nothing (4x4) vs. the results of the trials of the BC coilovers.

People are dumping the Eibachs usually because they are ready to fork up the dough for a full suspension. Typically the Eibachs are used to primarily lower the car for looks. I suppose ride and drive ability changes as well but the largest benefit is ride height. I did this until I found my BC racing coilovers but a lot of Viper guys are going with KW, Moton (MCS) and Penske.

Keep in mind Moton is not MCS, which might be inferred by your parentheses. May be a bit biased , but consider MCS a step above Moton , as they are alot of the major talents from Moton who
are over doing the MCS magic!!!

Although I've never personally used them on a Viper, if they are like any other installation, the problem lies in the damping ability of the OEM shocks. Shocks that are designed with a certain amount of travel in mind usually don't fare well when you take away 1"-2" of their travel, usually combined with addition of spring rate. The most obvious manifestation of this is a bouncy ride as the shocks struggle to control everything.

You DO get what you pay for!

Eibachs are $315.00 vs Adjustable Coilovers at $3000.00-$5000. If you are NOT in a quest for faster lap times, the choice is often budget-driven. And cosmetically inspired.

Not only do we use and like Eibachs (Gen 2 x 2) we do sell a lot. Informed Buyers matter! Autocrossers love em....

OP Viper98912, Gen 2 Konis are REBOUND ADJUSTABLE when you install the Eibachs. You should stiffen the full-soft factory setting when using these progressive springs. The result is a moderately-stiffer ride, with a lower C.G. for nimbleness.

The Gen 3-4 shock dampers are not adjustable, so some owners think the SRT-Eibach is more bouncy than they hoped for. But they like the look, and the lower CG for Cheap$$

You can always choose Thin-Spring-Caps .....same exact ride as Stock, just a better look, less GAP, a lower CG, and less labor....at only $159 for all 4

I am sure you can easily destroy the suspension characteristics with shorter springs etc ignoring the millions of $ that went into the factory setup. Just for the looks.

    Garage queen?

The Viper is a fast car. Any part south of the body/frame (suspension, rubber, etc.) is more important than anything else: e.g. stereo, tinted windows, wings, rims, blablabla

My car is a Sunday cruiser, with the only track time it's seen was at VOI12. When I lower it (a little), it's mostly for looks.

I did see that some run setting 3 or 4 on the Gen2 Koni's when using Eibachs. Are most satisfied with this? Bounciness and harshness? I don't want to be driving a boat on rough seas when cruising.

I did put on the thinner spring caps on factory springs/shocks but I'm not fully satisfied with them, even though they're a great product for the price. Lowered all 4 corners 1/2" (I wanted just a slight bit more), but I'm also a little concerned with how thin the cross-section of material is that holds the weight of the car (spring seat to shock cap seat). I think there's 1000's of these out there that have been put on cars without one ever shearing, but I just don't want to be the first to find out when a corner slams to the ground. That's why I'm thinking to go back to stock caps and Eibachs to get me the 3/4"-1" I'm looking for, or find a new setup overall (BC coilovers?).

I had Eibachs and lowering springs on my 03, swapped in KWs. So, the stock ride height 97 just got hand-me-downs, installed the lowering springs and got an alignment yesterday. I'm happy.

I was happy with my Eibachs. The BC coilovers were just too tempting.

I have set of Eibachs for a Gen 2 if anyone is looking. Went with Penske.

I also have a customer in MD-VA with G2 Eibachs and spring caps, under 1000 miles/ 6 mos. He went 19-20 afterwards, and for cosmetic reasons he went with KWs last week so he could fine-tune his wheel-gap and his driveway clearance. He wants $250 for all!

JonB@PartsRack.com, mention "JP Spring Kit" and we will handle it.... NO PMs please
