    Hood vents

Did anyone take the vent grilles out of the hood? Whats ur opinions? Any pictures? I think it would b pretty sweet, but is it a good idea? Wut good do they do other than looks or keeping unwanted objects out of the engine bay? Thanx!

Left mine out , it also helps cool a little more ,and you can check your oil ,without opening the hood .

Hood vents are designed to let air out and increase flow through radiator. You want the air to be smooth on exit . You may want them in

Pretty sure all there race cars have them out, but I could be wrong, screen is probably more just a liability factor for a street car.

Road or track they will help keep debris out of your engine bay. I wouldn't drive around without them, personally.

    The Hood Matters!

If you are talking about the 6-vent Gen 4, or SRT-model G5 hood, the cooling and downforce benefit of removing them is variable and significant with speed. [ACR Steve call for more]

On a street car, unless stuck in traffic, not so much. You CAN check your oil with the hood closed! But flammable debris and nosey looky-loos are a risk if the car is unattended.

Revolution is correct ( did on my ACRm)since I was told by a very reputable SRT Engineer it was beneficial for track use. And conversely ,as Jon mentioned , if for a street car that is not track
probably not really a benefit at all.
