Cataloging Build Sequence for 2000 ACR Red Silver stripes

I've embarked on the task of figuring out the build sequence numbers for the 25 Red/Silver ACRs that were built for the year 2000. Twenty two were designated for the US market and three for Canada. The 2000 ACRs are very interesting to me because of the mid year change from Koni suspension to DSI, as well as being the last model without ABS. I'm wondering how the mid year change affected the Red/Silver cars and how many were built with the Dynamic instead of Konis. As we all know, the VINs are worthless for determining build order, so we have to rely on the build date that's located on the driver's door. So what I need from owners of these cars is that information from the manufacturer's sticker on said door. If you provide me with the VIN as well, I can send you the build sheet and which market it was originally shipped to. It's exciting to me to think somewhere out there is the first and last 00 R/S ACR built with Konis, as well as the first and last with Dynamics. These things may not affect the value now but years from now it may make a difference. I'd like to document it all now before anymore information is lost. Once this project is complete I'll move on to other GenII ACR models. You can PM me or email me at Matt@SneakyPetesGarage.com Once all have been accounted for I'll be able to tell everyone exactly what number their car is. So if you had a Red/Silver 00 ACR or know someone who does, please contact me. More info is being lost about these cars all the time and it's up to us, the owners, to preserve it.

Here's how to find the build date:

And here's mine; built November 8th, 1999 with Konis. 1 of 2 originally sold in Pennsylvania.

    Thanks everyone!

Sounds like a fun project! Good luck with it.
Let me know when you're moving on to the 01's...

Thank you! Funny you say that, almost all of my friends have 01's. May take them up as a side project while I'm trying to piece the 00's together.

Really you should do this for all ACR’s from ‘00. So to help you out, my current ACR was built on January 21, 2000 on the 8th hour. My previous ACR was built one hour later if my memory serves me correctly. Both cars are Steel Grey and both have Koni shocks. I want to say the cut off point for the Koni shocks was in Feb or March.

I'll be doing all GenII ACRs eventually but I had to start somewhere ya know? Thank you for the info! I have a nice start on some others as well. If you can pm me the last few digits of the VIN so I can assign dates to them that would be wonderful. Thanks for the help!

I understand why you are starting with the 00, but wouldn’t it make more sense to start at the beginning with the 99’s? You would have the ultimate database for Gen II ACR’s. Good luck with your project. Pretty cool.

Frankly because I'm selfish and want to know what number mine is lol. A lot of these cars owners aren't on social media or these forms so after the initial surge of info it's slowed to a crawl. I'll take any information that's given, just want to focus on the 00 Red/Silver cars for the moment. There's also very few of them so it's also a bit of a test to see if it's even possible to get all of the numbers.

Close enough! If you send me the date and last bit of the VIN I'll add it to the list!

Its not much more work to add the other years. Plus, all years if you document wrecked/ parted cars it only adds to the relative rarity of yours . the more ACR data you have, the more statistically significant it becomes. There is just no way you get them all, but if more benefit, the more you will get people gathering the ACR data from events/ shows that you can add to your list. Speaking from experience.

See an ACR for sale? Ask the owner for a pic of the sticker.

Heres a few you might be able to axe off the list. A bit more digging and insurance auctions and im sure you could figure out the VINs some of the pictures have plates on them which you could probably figure out somehow.

I'm doing all GenII ACRs now. If you have one and would like to contribute to this project please contact me. I'll post them as I receive them and will catalog them later.

If a mod could change the title to "Cataloging Build Sequence for all GenII ACRs" that would be fantastic. Thank you!
