Talk to me about wheels and tires for gen II

So......here's my problem....I REALLY liked the wheels on my old one.

    18 inch CCW

Unfortunately I was forced to sell that call in the Fall of 2016.
In the Fall of 2017 I bought a different car, which has a 17 inch HRE? MRE? wheels. They aren't all that different with the exception of course for the size and rivet styling.....

Looking at the classifieds here and on Viper Alley.....doesn't actually seem to be a very strong used wheel market....lotsa of old "hey I'm selling my wheels" posts....and I don't really feel like plunking down 10k for wheels and tires when it appears I have perfectly good ones right now. How do I determine a value for what I have if I wanted to try and sell them....or am I being crazy and the wheels I have now are actually a superior wheel?

If you like what you have, don't change them. If you are looking for something different, wait until you need tires, then make the switch. Most like to go with the SRT wheels from 2008-the Gen 5 wheels. I am selling a set(probably the set in the classifieds you saw), but also Tony sells the Forgestars at a great price. you can choose the size you want to go with. Are you looking for polished or black?

If I was buying wheels I would literally buy another set of 18 CCW like my old car had (polished aluminum). That's what is hurting my head so much....aside from visual preference, am I giving up performance using a 17 versus an 18 (or visa versa) or is one wheel a better overall wheel than the other.

I cut my teeth in the mustang world and in 2001 had to make the big switch and start running 17 and 18 inch wheels on my old 60s mustangs because tires in 15 were all crap.

I'm wanting a set of CCW wheels for my car but want to stick with 18 as I just bought new tires.

So far my wheel choices are the

    HO-SP20_45.jpg

    And also the
HSP2K but this wheel is only available in 19+ sucks

Congratulations on your beautiful Viper. I was wondering if you purchased it from Sean at SRK Cycles?

NICE Looking Wheels, but Damn that's A LOT of spokes to be cleaning inside & out! As Always it just depends on what YOU Want! I've always been a fan of the 5-8 spoke wheels for that exact reason, Not to mention ALL the lil' nuts to clean! GL

There are some 18" Ultralight SSRs posted in the wheel/tire section of these forums. It's on the main forums page.

eBay or FB Marketplace........Facebook has a separate group for "only Viper wheels for sale".
