Yea im left no choice but to go cup2s. I wish I could stay with PS4S, but michelin does not make any for the 18-19 setup.
Only positive this means is I can go to the track more. Sucks that I now have to really upgrade my brakes which is something ive been putting off. LOL

to fit the 6 piston caliper up front easier

283/35/18 front is what most people do for the front with pilot super sports. Yes sidewall is a little bigger but not much. Ive tracked on 285/35 with no issues. Better than waiting/wishing for non existent tire sizes or even worse having to use pirelli P zeroes

You can run Michelin PS2s in 295/30/18 in front and PSS in 345/30/19 in rear. Compounds a little different but tread pattern is almost identical. I have run this setup on two One Lap of Americas.

Hmmmmm, I may go this route 100%.

I've emailed michelin asking why the hell they do not have any 30 aspect ration 18's, and very few 19s. I love the brand, but their selection fucking blows.

front 18s makes the tire selection difficult on the G5, much easier to find in 19/20 sizes

Agree our options are small. Really don't want to put r888r's all around. I know this is a ACR thread but still I know I'm not alone in wanting all around good driveablity tires that match. Also agree with everyone I hate the P 0's

id rather not do this, as the PS2 is a very old design replaced by the PSS. PSS is superior to it in every way. Its only still around because its OEM on some older cars and PS2 is pricier in most cases.

The PS2 provides excellent traction. More than the PSS in my opinion although the PSS is better in the wet.

Just an opinion, I have run PS2's, PSS's, Corsa's and now the Toyo's. An opinion again, the Corsa's and Toyo's are a in a different class (traction) than the first two. Prior to the current Toyo's I had a brand new set of PSS's on for two weeks, I had to change them, I thought they were dangerous. The difference may be the 9L

Yes, the corsa and r888r and cup2s are a step above the pilot super sport and ps2 and even ps4s. They are more performance (more grip) while sacrificing ride quality, longevity, road noise and cold weather/wet grip.
The michelin tires mentioned (except cup2) does everything i mentioned in bold better.
The pzero grips are below the michelins, maybe its equal to ps2, yea a tire from the late 2000's. LOL

the p-zero grips are horrible. I just went for a drive today and lost traction barely hammering it at 20mph. The outside temp was about 70F.

@vipergeorge, do you have any pics of your setup? Really excited about going this route.

i agree with you on everything, but, ride quality, the Toyo's do not ride that bad. To go one step further, the Corsa's work very nicely in the rain.

The world does not change with 50 extra hp. I just do not think the PSS are a good G5 tire. For what its worth I bought a set of PSS for my wife's 330 hp Solstice, she used them once for autox and refused to race again until I bought a set of A7's

You are the only person in this thread crying about the michelins, we get it, you want track focused tires.
For the rest of us, the michelin PSS or PS4S is a great tire. Im sure those a7s are great for the street, how are they in the wet? LOL

They are autox only and it is not crying,, I started the post by clearly saying (twice) it was only an opinion.

Just love love love these tires and it seems as though it would work, would love to see a rim and tire setup for these.

It would be nice if all Gen 5 could run 19's all around, how come the 16-17 ACR only came with 19's all around?
19/19 has worked on many Gen 5’s including mine. 295/30/19 and 345/30/19.

PSS for street usage is still far better than the pzero junk people keep posting, complaining, and waiting on for some odd reason.

Because there is no oem size, and you have to go 35 aspect ratio for the front. I pulled the trigger on ps2 front and Michelin rear. For my purposes, street driving I think they'll be fine. I'll report back!!

Nice job Jack, way to piss off the Mrs. I assume telling her they just need a laps to warm up didn't help.

What was funny, she had been running A7's, but, I thought I could save some money by going to one all purpose tire. I ended up going back to a two tire/wheel set. Personally, I like the PSS on the Solstice, it seems to be a good compromise.

save money and be fast ???? doesnt exist
1 tire that does it all well ??? doesnt exist
original thread-great option over the Khumo's for ACR ??? doesnt exist

By the way I to wish all of the above existed
