    Helmets

What are the requirements for helmets? I've seen them mentioned in several announcements/info, but no mention of what type and/or age restriction. Are all types allowed? (DOT, MA, etc)

I ask because SCCA is putting on the autocross. Excerpt from their rules:
    4.3 DRiveR’S SAfety equipmeNt
    4.3.1 Helmets
Helmets meeting the following standards must be worn while on course: All helmets meeting the latest or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards (SA2015, SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, M2015, M2010, M2005, K2015, K2010, K2005); SFI standards 31.1, 41.1, 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A; ECE R22.05; FIA standards 8859-2015, 8860-2010, 8860-2004; or British spec BS6658-85 type A are acceptable.

    I have an SA2010 and an SA2005 that I can bring as a spare/loaner

With SCCA, we generally defer to the track for rating. The track is usually restricted by the region/state laws or insurance. Most places no longer accept SA2005 for track use, but may be acceptable for AutoX. SA2010 is still good just about everywhere as far as I know.

Hopefully someone can chime in with a definitive answer of what minimum rating will be allowed for this event.

Make sure it Snell rated SA-2010 or newer (not official info just my recommendation)

NO- "M" is motorcycle and if there was a fire would basically melt to your face (sorry to be so graphic)

As ACR Steve noted the SA 2010 is definitely the best way to go. If I remember correctly SCCA is 15 years for Autocrosses on their Snell ratings.

I would sure use the SA 2010 and I know for a fact that one is okay.

You guys already got to it. Yes SA2010. And no motorcycle helmets.

We will also have helmets that we've arranged for those who need a loaner (they will be free of charge). Though we encourage you to bring a helmet if you have one.
