I read article sometime in the past. Here’s what, I remember, that article wrote(very similar to what Clarkson said)
“The Hummer is more “green” than the Prius.
They mine the ores in Norway to make the batteries.
Ship ore to China to smelt.
Ship it to Japan to have batteries installed and then ship to USA on a big ol’ cargo ship.
The smelting process is so bad
they had to build a smoke stack 1250’ tall so it would be high enough to be taken by the winds. Before the smoke stack was built the area around was so decimated they could use it for astronaut training for Mars.”
