Parking for folks registered of the Tail of the Dragon will be behind the Alamo Restaurant - 705 E. Parkway Hwy 321. Please let us know you are bringing a trailer so we can tell the Alamo folks how many to expect. Parking will be on the grassy area behind the restaurant.

Going to remind the GA members but wanted to see if there's still room at the Inn?

Not too bad considering NVE3 was just a few weeks ago. That always affects the turn-out though. I'm guessing 80+ total.

Yea, 50+ is darn good given how close the event is to NVE. We're at about 55 as of today.

I am in need of help in regards to the wife. I will not make the event due to reasons beyond my control, but my wife is going. Looking for an empty seat for her to share the experience in. I still need to pay for her registration too. Can she do that when she arrives at the event? She is staying at the Lodge.

Unfortunately my wife and I are canceling the trip due to the rain, it looks like once we leave our house in IL tomorrow it would rain non stop until we get back on Sunday. Sucks because we’ve been looking forward to this trip but flash flooding + Viper sounds like a miserable time.

    Hopefully next year!

I’m in the same exact boat, really wanted to do this since I couldn’t make Vegas NVE 3

I live here in Asheville so count me lucky that the event is so near to my hometown.... my plan from the beginning was to come hang/cruise on Saturday since I couldn't get the full time off for the whole event. With the weather the way it is, (it's very soggy here and has been for the past 4 days) I'll be keeping a close eye on the rain as well. Once this tropical system moves past which should be by Thursday.... I'm hoping the sun will peak out and dry up the roads.

Hope to run in to you guys on Saturday.

I think that goes on every year we're up here for some reason. It's never caused an issue, but good advise for sure.

Sunny morning here so far. hit / miss showers later. Just like every year. I hate it for the one's that cancelled. It's really not all that bad.

Anyone know if this is still the agenda for Saturday?

    Saturday 2 June
    • Greystone Lodge
o Proposed fun run to Maggie valley with lunch stop
    o Proposed second TotD run
o 430pm Depart for Parade Staging Area
    • Parade
    o 530pm depart for parade
    o Dinner at Cherokee Grill

If so I may try to meet up with those that make the run to Maggie Valley then hit the TotD after lunch with those that do that.

depart GS about 930. 100 mile roundtrip to Douglas Lake, Bush Bean museum, lunch at Angelos Restaurant on the lake. (this is what was on the print out)
But pretty much a free day if you decide

For those who worried about the rain. I understand but you missed a great event. To those who made it you know what I mean. To those who didn't come and had to cancel because of the weather; we will get your shirts and stuff to you soon. No rain on the Tail of the Dragon run on Friday and a late shower on the cruise on Saturday as we were headed home. It did rain on our parade on Saturday night and I'm sure the crowd was entertained as I put my top up 100 feet from the Cherokee Grille! Thanks to Ron for enduring the storm with me!

To those who made it: from the Alabama/Tennessee Club and the Carolinas Club, thanks so much for coming and making the 13th Annual Tail of the Dragon a success once again. Who knows, maybe we'll do it again next year.
