Unfortunately I don't think people outside of devoted Viperholics would know who Dick is. We need something that would connect with people. I do think this would be worth exploring with Prefix. They could send out special name plates to those with verified 9.0L conversions. These cars might become as valuable as the ACR/TAs! Maybe they could be called ACR/R for ACR-Race edition or ACR/HiPo. or maybe Viper/R or Viper/HiPo for you non-ACR guys. You guys with this upgrade should push Prefix on this.

Yeah, it would definitely need to be only available from Prefix and only on HC and 9L cars as it only makes sense to create another "special edition" if it truly is bonkers special (like another 700+ rwhp ). That would be awesome.
Have we exhausted all of the snake names? Cobra, Rattler, Medusa, Python, etc.?
The Big Boa
Prefix hc
prefix 9.0l
prefix 9.0l-e
To answer a couple questions here, we have thought about naming it, but the heads/cam is called our 700 kit.
The 9L is the 9L and then you have the 9L xtreme.
There were more people involved than just Dick to make the 9L and the Xtreme package come to life.
There are no authorized installers for the 9L or Xtreme package. We at Prefix are the only installers, our partners send your engine to us and we perform the modifications in our facility. You can buy the crank from Callies and figure out the details yourself, but you are on your own at that point.
We have plenty of new and stock take out parts, for the VVT setup. We also have special cams made specifically for us with oversize bearing journals. That way if an engine comes in with a damaged cam bore we can bore it oversize, and still use the block.
As far as durability of the 9L setup, we tested it on our dyno simulating 1/2 mile full throttle passes, with upshifts. The first hour or two sounded cool in the office, but after the third day it was quite annoying!!! lol
After all that we tore it down and inspected the block and rotating assembly. Everything looked and measured good!
You would be surprised on how small our marketing dept is lol
I have taken a few Viper to Prefix for this Upgrade. Once they come back they are a beast.
What I mean is the 1 10th or so you'd have given up bouncing off the limiter you would have gain much more back accelerating after that turn. No offense that's just my advice on that part of the track. If you watch all the videos of Chris Winkler breaking all those track records you'll see him hold gears and bang the limiter a lot, giving up a tiny bit of time, but gaining it back by not have to immediately downshift again. Which tires are you running again? He should have let you buy anyway, you were killing him in the turns. Awesome driving and great vid thanks for sharing.
I've had limited track time on my 9.0 Extreme, had a shock break on my first outing etc. But it's night and day as far as acceleration goes, my ACR has never been able to pass GTR's, Cup Cars, GT3's etc on the straights, and now the 9.0 walks away from them. It really evens the playing field against those paddle shifted beasts. And with the wing it can put the power down. I was really shocked at being able to be full throttle shifting into 2nd gear once the tires were hot. If you do the upgrade and find that it upsets the balance like you are worried about, just keep it in a higher gear until you get used to it. You could basically keep a 9 liter in 3rd gear and never shift (except for long straights) and be very surprised at your lap times.
whats the real cost for the 9 upgrade?

Ok, but the name "Yenko" certainy didn't connect with people when it came out, aside from Cameroholics, and those who bought a car from Don Yenko's dealership.
I think if the premise should go forward, it should have a name that connects with the 9.0L (I chose Winkles as he created it for the Viper). Arrow 9.0L or Prefix 9.0L would work also... I think unrelated names to the 9.0L, like various snake names or marketing names car companies come up with, would be tacky.
This should be for all documented Vipers that have the Arrow/Prefix 9.0L, not just he ACR's.
Anyway, I had been thinking of adding 9.0L vinyl decal, above or below my vinyl 'ARROW Racing Engines' logo that is already on my Viper. Just need the time to find a decent custom maker.
9.0af
We've seen Callaway SC757, AMS with the Alpha 10 and Alpha 12 GTR's, and we know of Tesla and their P90, P100, etc.
So, how about something that incorporates the hp output or other measure of power.
How about AP7 for the HC package (for Arrow/Prefix 700 kit), and AP9 for the HC and 9L combo?
I thought about Arrow Racing AR7 and AR9, but in the current environment anything with an AR designation may not go over very well. It does sound badass though.

This is what I did for my HC Stage 2 ACR. Now some might find it goofy. IMO, it’s cool.
If I did 9L I’d come up with something.
I’d love for Prefix to have package name that’s market focused.
As far as ‘mods’, I agree it depends on buyer. I’d pay more for a car with these mods by Prefix, VE or Woodhouse. A motor they’ve been thru is a safer one than a stock one, IMO. And I’m of the opinion that these mods aren’t like other mods.
What about just putting the 9.0 where the 5.0 is on mustangs. Nine point O!
