    Long term storage

    Hello everyone,

New member on this forum, and in need of some help.
I have a 1999 twin turbo acr thats been in storage for 5 years, looking to order some parts and get it running.
Car is located in dubai so would need to order everything from the states. Planning to drain all fluids including gas tank, and replace all hoses and filters. Please let me know, if I am on the right track or what else to keep an eye on.
Also any recommendations on a clutch to hold around 1000 rwhp.

    thanks, appreciate all the help.

You're on the right track with changing the fluids. You may want to check the hoses first before replacing them unless you are doing it just for piece of mind. If you go that route be advised that some of the factory hoses are very hard to locate (lower radiator hose was the worst for me). You can go silicone though if you are OK with that which is readily available.

At 5 years in storage I would also consider new tires especially in a 1000HP car. You've lost some traction with those tires just to the aging of the rubber. I would also inspect the suspension especially if stored with full weight on the suspension or no weight on it.

Probably not a bad idea to do a good detail on the car with a nice fresh coat of wax.

Also, I would replace the battery. I know a car that was stored and left on a battery maintainer should still be functional but these cars are so finicky with how they run based off the battery I wouldn't risk it, especially in a place as warm as Dubai.

A lot will depend on how it was stored and since I've never done one that long I'll let others add to this or advise if anything is overkill.

Might want to get the injectors cleaned if the car has been sitting for 5 years, especially on s car making that kind of power. You definitely want to make sure your squirters are working properly.
