Tires for OEM ACR wheels x2 sets

I'm sure this a dead horse for some, but I didn't find and all inclusive thread about this and searching became a PITA. Mods, maybe make a sticky or a cleaned up version for a sticky?

Anyways, 2 sets of OEM ACR wheels for my 17 E

One set for street use (aka: all spring/summer/fall weather which includes conditions of hot/warm/wet/etc, normal/crappy bumpy/uneven streets, and very spirited driving)
One set for track use (aka: HPDE, aggressive HPDE)

Tire size options? Tire brand/type recommendations? Trying to stay as close as possible to the OEM circumference.

Not to many choices that make sense except - stock ACR Kumho or for track Hoosiers (then you have to adjust ride height they are slower but last 10x longer)

I am very pleased with Toyo R888R 295/30-19 on the front and stock Kumho rear for spirited street driving. I know some get their panties in a bunch over mixing tires, and I usually wouldn’t do it, but I have experienced zero downside in this case.

Stock ACR are junk for street use from everything I've read and heard
Looking into A7's (I think?) for HPDE stuff

Yeah, I'm not a mixer either, and I'm looking to go to something more "street" than the Kumho ACRs. Like Toyos front and rear, or Michelin Sport Cups or PZero or PZero Corsas, etc.

Thank you both for your reply!

I know some out there in web land know and can chime in and help me on options/recommendations

Better idea to choose tires first and then choose wheels to suit tires. The answer for many has been to go with an 18" front wheel to improve tire selection and longevity for track use if you'd like to consider that option.

Just went through this process myself. Purchased Michelin PSS for street use and am using the Kumhos for track initially, may try R7 next. No feedback yet as just purchased and supposed to get tires mounted Friday. Fronts for the PSS are 295/30/19 and a tad taller than the stock Kumho. You can also buy Pirellis in 295/30/19 size, so Corsa is also an option. The rear tires for PSS are 345's, but have wider tread width than the Kumho and within 0.4" on section width. Pirelli offers 355 rears.

No exact fit street tire options, but several that are very close and seem to work based on comments I have read. Most that say the Kumho is good in the rain aren't referencing a good old south Texas dump that brings with it a lot of pooled water on the highways. The Kumho will hydroplane like a mother above 35-40 mph in pooled water from my experience.

I already have the two sets of OEM wheels, and I'm on ACR CCB brakes, but if I was doing a "build" I would agree with that methodology

kind of what I was looking for more or less, and I agree with your water assessment
