    Oil pressure problems

    I have a 2015 GT with 5000 miles.

Never had a problem and have checked oil levels religiously.
While driving today, I noticed oil pressure is now essentially 0 at idle (gauge flashing red). At 1000 rpm pressure gets to about 50. While driving it is 100, at top of scale.
No error codes and oil level is fine.

Not sure how to proceed? Flatbed to dealer? Faulty sender?

    Thanks for any help.

I would have it flatbed to dealer. Probably a sensor, but best to be safe.

Yep, classic symptoms of a bad sensor, but I would flatbed it just to be safe.

Sounds like a sensor.. you could hook a mechnical gauge to the engine and check it if you have one.

Where would one tap into the engine to get a reading?

most engines have a port near near/above the oil filter. if not there you could use the location the oil pressure sending unit screws in to the block.

Had that happen this weekend.... On dash red flashing and SRT screen showing zero (yet no signs of performance impact or engine noise such as valve train clatter). Dealer and to do a TSB update, all fixed. (If you really lost oil pressure, you'd hear lifter noise in a heartbeat...and I suspect throw other codes related to the cams)

Had this happen too. It's the same sensor off the doge caravan lol
Most often it's the sensor but better safe than sorry.

Agreed... Thought it was sensor also but let the dealer take a look either way. Ended up being a TSB. (In-fact the center-stack
started throwing strange fast messages in the SRT Performance G2 page...)

Location of Sensor, the #2 is the sensor. Location is the right front corner of the engine, adjacent one of the oil cooler lines.

NOTE: If reinstalling oil pressure sensor apply thread sealant.

NOTE: Sensor must be rotated to orient electrical connector clearance within 10 minutes of installation.

Install oil pressure sensor (2) and tighten to 9 N·m. (80 in.lbs.) and rotate to orient electrical connector.

    Connect electrical connector.

I had the same thing about 2 months ago. The dealer replaced the sensor.

Had the viper flatbedded to the nearest dealer with a Viper tech. It seems that a Dodge dealer is not allowed to work on a Viper unless they have a certified Viper tech.
It was a bad sender. All fixed.
    Dealer is 30 miles away.
I really hope I never need warranty work again.
I guess one downside to owning these awesome cars.

Email the dealer to put the car inside if it's staying overnight.
