What sort of time do standard 991 GT3R's do around this circuit btw? I can then tell you what sort of time an ACR should do around there. But a 2:13 that you do is fairly solid and would expect the ACR to match this at least. High powered circuit with lots of DF advantage.

I cant remember what 991 GT3RS's are doing on track but the fastest lap on track is 2:07 set by a 997 gt2 that isn't for sure stock. I know a 2:13 would be a walk in the park for the ACR and in my lap there's a lot of areas to improve on. Honestly I don't know which is going to be faster on track. How's the viper ACR acceleration with the high downforce in 4th and 5th gear ? As 5th gear in my TA is like hitting a wall and there are 4 straights in the track layout two of them till the end of 4th and the other two you have to shift into 5th.

Well 5th sucks of course(which is why I'm changing gear ratios). However remember you gain time in the corners not from the straights. As you have probably seen in my video with an LT 675. Although that has mega straight line speed I fairly easily catch him up in the corners-and the driver was pretty good as well so its not like he was holding back. With some of the corners at Spa you can deploy the DF with the speed you are going, but remember the ACR still has about 400 lbs of DF even at 80mph which makes a difference in how you are able to take corners..
In fact what this mashup of me vs 918 to see how I make up time in the corners versus the mighty 918

    There are no secrets

Thanks Yousif for putting up this thread and keeping it updated.
GulfRun has been proven to be the most beautiful track event in our region, and I consider myself lucky to be part of it for the third year now.

My ACR-E is bone stock still .. I'm the kind of a guy who love to keep everything as is in a car for the track unless I really have to.
I did the same with my 2013 GTS as well, until I added TA 1.0 aero package and arrow PCM.

What I'm worried about in the ACR are Tires and Brakes .. It is really really fast car but that come with a high maintenance cost, at least to my budget.
So far the tires have survived two full track days, that I was not pushing all day long, but glad they are surviving so far, can't say the same for the front brake pads though.

As far as the GulfRun challenger, This will be my setup:

    - ACR recommended settings, including (Height, alignment, compression and rebound)
    - Wing is still at position "2" and not sure what position will work best on BIC (Bahrain Int. Circuit)
    - New Stock Kumho Tires (Heat cycled and ready)
    - New Brake pads

I am finalizing three things at the moment:

    - DSE intake heat shield installation (Great product as always)
    - 6-point TeamTech Harness (undergoing with JonB as we speak)
    - Front Tow hook

I will ask around for the 991 GT3RS lap times and get back at you guys.

Well imv if you track the car you really need harnesses. Secondly buy this Front hook instead of the hooks that have a massive base and permanently stick out. This is the one you need http://www.viperpartsusa.com/catFrame.php?prodCat=1
I had the other ones before making the swap to this one. I also feel the bulkier permanent set up sits in front of cooler reducing some flow in hot climates where you need every bit of cooling surface available.
You will also find that the harder you push the car, and subsequently see your lap times drop, then you're tyres will also degrade quickly. It gets to the point, when you're really pushing, that you will need 1 set of fronts for every track day and 1 set of rears for every 2 days-maybe 2.5 if your lucky. Go slower and you will of course preserve the tyres so take your pick. With respect to CCM pads the more track days you do the more you will start to wear through your pads quicker and more frequent as the rotors start to wear more and more and become more abrasive. I changed to Girodisc steels but that is something you need to decide if its for you.

Thanks for the recommended hook, looks like I will get one.
I totally agree with the tires, I am not yet pushing to my limit as I am still learning and bonding with the ACR.
I really love the current brake system, but the budget will set that decision later on the end of this season lol, but thanks for the advice.

I asked, and the fastest 991 GT3RS lap time on the GP was 2:10.

Although I'm a big porsche fan either viper has to be the fastest this year. We have new capable drivers and cars joining this year. We both should aim at least for less than 2:10.

Agree. A well driven ACR-E(which is what I know) should be a a 2:07-8 then, if we assume 2:10 is a good 3RS time.... So you guys have some work to do! Enjoy!

That will be a tall order to get 2:07-2:08 as the 997 gt2 that got this is time is on full suspension, michelin slicks and pushing close to 700rwhp. We'll just have to wait and see and post the results here. Also we'll both get on track footage of our fastest lap.

Well I don't think so. Remember the Kumhos are not far different from slick times. They just don't last long. And I really cannot imagine a 997 GT2 would be able to put down that power in the real world-certainly not in corners. And I truly do not think that a '7GT2 with any horsepower will be quicker around a track than a '7GT3 Cup. I would say an ACRE could match a '7GT3 Cup on a good day. Your friend also has to make a leap of faith and trust the aero and lean on it more. That's where the advantage lies.. I also think Viperawi should be running wing in position 1 for a high speed circuit like yours

This is actually the second time I hear the same statement in a week. I really need to trust the Aero.
Thanks for the wing advice, I am now considering to try both position #1 and #2 and see.

So to update this thread after asking all vendors suspension offering and also forum members to get their feedback and my main purpose of the upgrade to be beneficial on track I've decided to go with MCS suspension and dealing with Mark is always a pleasure unfortunately future viper owners wont get to know how a world class person he is. My car has been in the garage for more than a moth after removing the control arms and shipping them half way across the world and got caught up with Christmas and New Years which delayed things but thankfully got everything now and started the installation. The shocks have been installed and working now in the control arms.

Added sway bar bushings as the OEM dont withstand the track abuse.

    IMG_20180117_141251_1.jpg

Shim kit for better alignment settings

    IMG_20180117_114541.jpg

As shown all the rubber bushings have been replaced to stop any play from the rubber and not changing my alignment on track and also to provide more feedback out of the car.

A pic of the MCS before installation.

Shock relocation spacers and sway bar endlinks

Viperpartsusa sells a kit. Not sure if the ones above are the same.

Love to hear how well the spherical bearings hold up over time. Drive my TA on the street on weekends and concerned they would need to be replaced every 10k miles.
Been looking around for something in between the factory and spherical, perhaps delhrin.

I looked if there were any delhrin options but there aren't any, only ones I found were for gen 2.
