I drove the one at Bondurant as hard and as fast as I could in the AZ heat. It never missed a beat, but I would not have wanted that car after a day like that and that was just me and not considering who drove the same car before and after me. I think I would pass on any of them.

If anyone is considering even looking at anyone of these cars they need to call Eddie Martin the Viper Tech at Airpark Dodge. Like AZVipers said he worked on all of these cars and is one of the best techs in the country, call him and ask him anything about the car. One thing about Eddie is he is straight forward and won't bullshit you!

I've never understood why Viper owners tend to lean towards everything needing to be cheaper. We truly have it backwards, compared to the Ford GT crowd, who keeps their pricing high.

Palmer will sell every single one of these cars, period. Just because YOU personally think something is "overpriced", that doesn't mean the entire market feels the same way. If they get $94K for each and every one of those cars, then they priced them perfectly. Would I pay that? No. But someone will - and that is what matters.

These cars are gone now. Maybe many of you should start posting that the prices are too low. That would help the entire community of Viper owners, going forward. Quit trying to bring the values of these cars down, all the time.

Interestng comment on the ta caliper looking clapped out quick. I think that has to do with the more charcoal matte finish than anything. Even new. My previous SRT had black clipers and they were a deep shiney black and stayed nicer looking than my t/a calipers.

They are Anodized black calipers. So they don't look like a normal shiny black. More of a dark grey.

You would have the nice looking calipers if you had a "Real TA".
Sorry I couldn't resist. I've read your other thread.

Anodized material will change drastically with heat and uv's, and will start looking fugly in short order....JM2C..I could be wrong...

Yawn...the car is worth whatever a buyer (knowledgable or not) is willing to pay.

Sorry Tony. The vipers are still sitting on eBay unbidded. Unless you called Palmer and confirmed?

I believe Tony said the cars "will sell". When he says "These cars are gone now", I believe he is saying the Viper isn't being built anymore. At least, that's how I read his post.

    Agree.

They are selling these as 1 owner clean car fax cars! That is really shameful imo! Site sponsor or not, this some bs used car salesmen garbage right here!

I wonder if these cars went back to Prefix after they were done at Bondurant?

Why would these go to Prefix. What do you think Prefix would do, paint them?

I believe if they get their asking price, they priced them too low! But they will sell, not every owner is on here or is going to even drive the hell out of the car. We've seen owners keep their cars as garage queens, even though it's not very common for Vipers it does happens. I agree we need to build more value in our cars rather than pick them apart and remotely devalue them. There are may of us who track our cars hard and they hold up just fine!

Correct. As a member in many different automotive enthusiast clubs, the Viper community is THE worst when it comes to eating itself, and always trying to hurt the values of their own cars. Been like that for 10+ years I've been around, and it always amazes me. We should be working together to raise prices on all Vipers.

I doubt these cars EVER saw 4th gear. When I drove them you could stay in 3rd all day long due to the speeds you were doing. Some were downshifting into 2nd...but on the GT's that were driven at the time I was there going into 4th would be useless as the track is just not big enough to use that gear.

I don't know about the other Gens but over the last 4 years I've noticed that the Gen V negativity has almost been exclusively from non-Gen V owners, a few very angry and tirelessly vocal owners who have had an issue, and those who directly and shamelessly try to devalue the car as they shop to purchase one. Hopefully most can see these kind of posts and posters for what they are and ignore their twisted crap. I'm sure many sellers let theirs go for considerably less than they should for a variety of reasons, but it's very gratifying to see some cars sold for way more than the Negative Nancy's and Debbie Downers would like us to believe.

Just to talk about other loaned vipers, Whatever happened to the SRT Experience vipers? I drove them in 15' and we usually did up to 3rd gear.

Surprisingly enough, no. The RPM shot up but I caught it early enough.
I did the same thing at Thunderhill earlier this year with the ACR, but same thing, caught it early enough that I clutched immediately and put it in 3rd.
Looks like those motors are tough though but still, I need to remember not to grab that stick the way I do. Funny enough the dude at Bondurant did warn us about that and yet, I let it happen to me.

Generally speaking, it's become endemic. From my experience the BMW i8 community is the absolute worse.

    Ditto's +100

By default, that's what real "enthusiasts" do.
