    Saleen S1 North American Launch 11 30 17 at 10 30 am Pacific

Will be interesting to see the all new Saleen S1 car unveiled tomorrow in LA. Will it have an inline 4 or the Stage 3 Ford GT ecoboost motor. Might be built in China or here in Cali. Could be a a great track toy at the extreme lightweight. $100k base price. No S7 but might be interesting.

I just wonder how the mid-engine Corvette will look sitting side-by-side? Getting to the point that you seen one mid-engine, you've seen every mid-engine.

Almost looks like a Alfa 4C met toyota celica with a wee bit of porsche rear end.

The exterior looks pretty good though I do not like the wheels at all nor the small brakes. Not a big 4 banger guy but that is some pretty impressive power out of a 4 banger and I am sure there is more as there are guys out there making reliable 550Hp out of that little Ecoboost. However the interior is very much an afterthought in my opinion. I am not a fan of the interior at all, unless what I saw was not the final product nor for this car even. I am not into the Tesla kind of interior look at all. Car is very light and with that power, it could be a very fast and fun car.

Funny is this is actually a perfect time to unleash a car specifically like this and that is a great segment to do it in. It's only real competition in like-car is really the Lotus and the Alfa 4C. Yes Porsche and a few others could be in the same $ range but I do not really lump them in the same actual category as this beyond the other two cars I mentioned.

Look I have owned Saleens from 1987 on to the present. Always had a Saleen of various types in my garage. My only real issue with Saleen (unless this China cash injection and manufacturing is real) is on the warranty and product support. Most all the Saleens I bought were glass slipper in the case they had obsolete unobtanium replacement parts while sitting new in the Ford showroom. You were placed in a he said, she said between Saleen and the Ford dealer with nobody picking up the repair in the end. It was always 1 yr, 12,000 mile warranty on my S351s. It was that tuner kind of experience.

Will be interesting to see how well the car is built how tests will be of actual performance, what kind of response people have to it. It is a little exciting and new to me (despite some saying the looks are a little old. I am not aa 100% fan of a lot of the newer car looks so this one looks pretty good to me. However if the interior is what I saw, it is a big no. I could not live in the interior looking the way it does. It would also need to have big carbon brakes and a 5 or 20 spoke rim on it. Exterior actually does look good to me anyway.

To each their own, but that car looks like a cheap Toyota Celica that someone put a body kit on. Wheels look terrible, interior looks cheap as hell, and the outside looks like it's all made of plastic even though I know it's supposed to be carbon fiber. Needless to say, but I will not be going out and buying one of these no matter how fast they are.

Oh come on, it is not that bad. Looks a hell of a lot better than the latest Gen corvette. The new corvette looks like the head designer was Sloth from the Goonies!

New S1 pics. (Argh can’t seem to post from my iPad, )
