^^^Fuel delivery???^^^JM2C...I could be wrong...
Check your fuel pressure at the rails and AFR's with a wideband. Look at all your spark plugs also.
Very small handful maybe 3 cars that I know of. We noticed on Slowhatches car that his OEM fuel pump was under performing slightly, not much but enough to notice it. Put a new TI Automotive (OE supplier) prototype high flow pump in it and it cleared up the issue.
Dick is going to take a look at Tony's 9.0L soon and get it squared away.
Are you running Stock trans, clutch and rear end gears? Curious about gearing. Thanks
yes sir, stock trans, stock rear and gearing and stock clutch....everyone complains about the stock clutch at the track but I think it works great!
No i don't think many people are complaining about the stock clutch on track. I certainly haven't had any problems. But as the triple carbon is considerably lighter I would like to uprate once I get my 9L conversion. I will also be changing rear end and gearing as well so whilst there that is why the clutch will be changed.
I think he meant people at the drag strip that are doing hole-shots on the stock clutch, on a sticky tire. Very demanding given the length of first gear. Seems some guys are getting away with it and others like Slowhatch aren't.
For road course duties, I would think the factory clutch is fine. Nothing wrong with going to an Nth clutch. I would if funds allowed.
If you track your car, it's not a matter of if it will fail, it's a matter of when. Yes they work great. They're just not very durable unfortunately. I've had two fail on me on the road course. There won't be a third. The first had 14,226 miles and nearly cost me an engine. The other one was brand new and cost me a race win. The failures were different.

ahh I misread that, sorry I thought you meant tranny failed. My stock clutch on my ACR has about 4K track miles and seems ok so far and I'm hard as hell on it. I will be getting my '13 9 liter back soon with the extreme cam around 750rwhp and should probably do the Nth clutch. What are your thoughts on that clutch? Seems the way to go...
We can install the nth moto clutch while we are doing the Xtreme upgrade. If you have it done later there are modifications made to the flywheel and flywheel bolts for the 9.0L crankshaft. You will run into issues having another shop install it, we have seen it happen!!!
Is this for a Gen V?? As I see that you have a 2008 ACR?? To say that its not a matter of if but when the clutch fails is rather pointless. They will all fail at some point. Doing nearly 15k of hard track miles is very good for any clutch buddy if that's what you did. You can't complain too much with that....!
The Gen V clutches I've seen have the same part numbers on the discs as my Gen 4 clutches. Same manufacturer, same design. Are there differences?
You're the expert on what's pointless are you?
The 14226 miles were not all hard track miles. This was my '09 street car that has been tracked. I doubt 10% of those miles are hard track miles.
Look, I'm just passing along my experience. The two failures I had should not have happened. Neither of them were abused. The one from my race car still looked brand new when I removed it. My opinion is they are under engineered for anything other than normal street driving.
Is it possible to tune the heads/cam stroker with hptuner? Has anybody tried?
Since this thread has wandered off track...has your issue been addressed? It sounds like either a fuel delivery problem, or worse a valvetrain stability issue. If it is the latter, it might already be too late...valve float generally doesn't do a motor any favors.
Maybe this has been discussed somewhere else, but what is the price difference between doing the 9.0 conversion vs. a heads and cam install?
