I was thinking he'd have been better off pulling to the inside shoulder ... but then that became a crash area too. Good that he got out and behind the barrier.

In typical road crashes, I've always driven past the carnage and stopped to help. Never stop behind if possible. Of course, this is a track but it did seem like he had better options.
