    Gen II ACR For Sale

So I found this vehicle for sale:

    https://www.a-gc.com/2000-dodge-vipe...tion-c-441.htm

It was made 11/22/99 at 12:00 PM.

It has a BLACK cap on the master cylinder which I thought was '99 and changed to yellow in the '00 MY. Also, I believe it has Koni's which ran 1/2 year into the '00 model year run.

Growing up an automotive brat, model year change over was normally July and/or August, but I know Vipers were different. When was change over from '99 to '00 and did they use BLACK caps until they ran out? I am probably wrong about something here.

One would think that a dealer selling high end cars would have cleaned up the underside of that viper a bit more. Seems to be the best of both worlds with the ACR components and later engine mods. I wonder if it was still a forged motor or the later cast internals?

I think it is a 1999 model year, not 2000.

The VIN decodes as a 2000 model year.

The Yellow cap was on later ABS cars 2001, 2002, also the brake lines were powder coated Black on the 2001 / 02 cars.

My car is a 2000 and has a black cap, the lines are bare metal Alloy colour.

One thing I do find interesting is on the lower lip of the front nose, the centre part seems to have a load of slots in it? Not ever noticed that before?

Car also has the Brake upgrade, Baer up front and the oem front calipers moved to the rear. Should be a brake bias valve somewhere I would have thought?

Asking about price, the "Y" in 10th spot is a 2000, interesting on the cap color - have seen videos that have gotten that wrong, great question about the internals DT (ducatithunder),

The internals are not forged. One of the key features of the 2000 model year was the engine change. Early cars, prior to November came with special blocks that were oil burners or screamers. It really depended on the owners ability to break them in properly. I believe by November these engine blocks were phased out. It appears the car in question has likely been tracked based on the nice lower airbox. I can’t recall if that was an item available through DC Performance at the time. I’ve had two ACR’s, both with January build dates. Both cars had black master caps. Also an easily replaceable cap would not be an indication of anything really. The rear of the frame near the exhaust looks like it went through the garbage disposer, pretty beat up.
If you’re a stickler, it’s missing the proper airbox and smooth tubes and correct K&N filters which were part of the ACR package. I also did not see the five point harness’s.

The harnesses could be behind the seats. That's where mine reside on a mostly permanent basis. Nice looking car though. What would that lower air box do though?

I believe that lower air box set up was for front brake cooling. I have only seen one other acr running that set up. My only beef with that box is to cut the bumper to not have it hang any lower and catch. Because racecar, lol.

Mine is a '99 (confirmed) and I have a black brake fluid cap, black oil cap and yellow washer fluid. So I'm not sure if it means anything or not.

WHAT! I wear my 5 point everywhere - even sitting in the garage! I make my passenger use hers too. Looks - well - unbelievable on her

I hate wearing harnesses. Mine are behind the seat too. I wore the 5 point in my cobra maybe 4 times. Usually on long highway trips, but usually just rock the lap belt. I mean hey I’m in a cobra. If I get hit I’m going to prob die anyways, lol.

Looks like I see the pass side left shoulder strap there behind the seat in this photo (brightness adjusted)

Love the idea of the higher mileage and what is being asked, but there are much lower mileage cars for less. On top of that, I am continually amazed that pictures are used and the carpets are vacuumed. Its just a little pet peeve of mine that may show the level of care given.
