    Monoballs install

I'm converting the suspension in my '13 track car to Comp Coupe spec. The pics below is the control arms with mono balls installed. SnakeOyl (Viperpartsusa.com) did all the machining work (Thanks guys!)
We are also installing billet rear shock mounts, control arm stud kit. I've already been running their alignment shim kit on my '13 and ACR with great results (My front camber was moving before the shims).
I'll report back next month after my first track event with this setup!

Great setup would love to do the same but shipping my control arms half way across the world will be expensive so I'll keep that for next season. I'd like to ask what is the benefit of running the lower shock mounts as I wanted to run them with the suspension that I wanted to get but was told its not needed, and what ride height are you running your '13 SRT as I'm doing my suspension on my TA and not an ACR.

    Thanks

I'm not exactly sure of the exact benefits of those shock mounts other than them being stiffer/faster and no play.
I'm still playing with ride heights on both this car and my ACR, trying to get lower and lower without destroying the splitter. At my last even I ran my ACR at 3.75" front and 5.25" rear, about 1/4 inch lower than recommended track heights. I'm going to try 3.65" and 5.15" rear on my '13. I think that will be absolute lowest we can go on these cars without damaging the front splitter. The rear strakes will scrape a lot at this height but who cares.

Drove a friend's 911 turbo with the complete RSS Tarmac kit and impressed with the feel and responsiveness. Decided to begin looking into a Viper monoball conversation and saw the viperpartsusa package. I drive the TA to and from the track and concerned the bearing would wear prematurely with street use.
Happen to know how long the bearing would last under track use before they developed play.
Does the monoball bushings have covers to minimize dust from entering into the bearing area? I've seen kits for the p-cars when they use a plastic or rubber sleeve to protect the bearing.

I have been running an monobail suspension on my 08 for three years. The system was designed and built by Eric Messely from Californi using Penske 7760 shocks. The car is much more responsiv once you get the proper set up. Since the majority of adjustments are done with shims, be sure to take the car to someone familiar with monobail alignments.
I ended up getting 5 sets of springs with different lengths and resistance to find the right shock for my style of driving..

As far as your ride height, you need to scale the car to find the right balance and rake that will work the best to balance the car and get the correct rake.

Since you will have so much adjustability it will take some time to find the correct alignment to work the majority of tracks you drive on. Monorail is designed to set up the car easily for specific tracks. That is a lot of work unless you are competitive racing IMO.

Also have your bump steer checked. The monoball wiil change your suspension droop and compression angles.

Don't forget to get a shim kit as well
