    Tire Code

First, I have to imagine that what I am about to ask already has multiple threads.

Second, apparently my skill of using the search box is limited.

Third, when looking thru results of said searches, I develop a spontaneous case of ADD and figure its easier to just ask.

    Deciphering FHMR D9F X 229:

    FH - (plant)Clemount Ferrand, France

MR - is this tire size? can't find for '99

D9F - optional code? for what and what is this code

    X - just a separate I beleive

229 - (date) 22nd week of 99 or May 31, June 1,2,3,4 if they work 5 days a week in France and hadn't kicked in the 20 hour week yet

    Thank you and Cheers!

The production date is behind the DOT ...229 would mean 1999, 22nd week. +18 years old.
After 1999 it is 4 digits, like this

    3rd week of 2004

So you may not have understood my question - you repeated what I know. I was asking about what is in RED:

MR - is this tire size? can't find for '99

D9F - optional code? for what and what is this code

Whats the make of the tire? I presume Michelin as you are showing a FH plant code?

Does anyone know what the items in RED mean in the tire code?

    http://www.michelinrvtires.com/tires...dentification/

So according to the Michelin site above...
MR is the optional code and it is a code reflecting tire size
The other three characters represent a dimensional code, which states it means the tires dimensional sculpture.
