1992 VIN Euro car or USA car

Can anyone tell me if this was a USA car that had been shipped to Europe or if it was originally a Euro car?

My guess would be BUX (export). What do the seat belts look like? Some countries did not allow side exhaust or door-mounted seat belts.

Can't see the seat belts in those pics, but check out the speedo, the bigger numbers area MPH, the smaller or KMH, maybe that's a clue?

With 285/6 built - I would suggest all were built for the USA. Making a car for export would have added a lot to the price and to what end? 92 were sold out here.

I know of 92's ending up in Europe in the very beginning of 1993...but, back then, there were no 'EU Vipers'....it started with the GTS.

I thought that 1994 was the first year that some rear exhaust Vipers were built for export...a couple of hundred out of over the 3,000 production total.

It is interesting that the equipment listing for this car has the last line item under the standard equipment heading as "Export U.S. Specifications" whereas the other two 1992 models on ebay have the words "U.S. Dealer Retail" instead.

I thought all Vipers that were exported to Europe were badged as a Chrysler? Or is that only the case for later generations?

I would venture to say the it is an US car.
I own a Canadian 97 and all the gauges are in metric system.
I'm not 100% sure but the metric system is used worldwide and only the US of A still uses mph and Farenheit temp system.

    Hello,

I`ve read quite a lot about the euro-spec Vipers befor I bought my GTS. As far as I know all the 1992 Vipers have been bulit for the US market. The 1994`s are the first one I know about to be built for export (Europe) and they all were labeled as Chrysler Viper.

The most obvious difference ist the rear exhaust ,the side markers in the front fender/Hood and the Chrysler badge in the rear. They were also down in power, about 364hp.

Here`s an ad from an Euro-Spec RT/10 for sale here in Switzerland

    I hope this helps you,

    Ronnie

Now comes the debate on how much less an export '92 is worth than a USA one? lol.

Obviously its worth more cuz there's only 32 of them. But they won't be as valuable as the 14 Canadian ones lol

What are the red markings on the wheels, next to the valve stems? I haven't seen these before.

    Mine has all that.
Rebadged as Dodge at some point probably. Should've been badged as Chrysler but it is badged Dodge. Anything can happen in 20 years.

Also noticing that in front of the doors the hinge covers are the same colour as the side sills? Never noticed that before?

Looks like they are carbon fiber overlay, on the fuel door and hood as well. Found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1S3xuJMysA. The magazine article shows all those markings too. Anyway it seems like aftermarket dressing.
