    Tuners near Indianapolis

Can anyone recommend any tuners from around the Indianapolis area? Purchasing the SCT and would rather take it to a shop then send files back and forth. It's a 98 GTS

In the past few years, at least a couple of Viper guys have used Cozzolino Motorsports on Indy's southwest side.

Watch for posts by IndyRon as he is more in touch with the current tuners.

    Phunny,
I wish I could still recommend Cozzolino. They have/had a dynojet and have done a nice job in the past. That said, they seem to have closed abruptly and I'm currently working to get a Viper Gen 4 differential/gears back from them. Definitely stay away! I don't have any other rec's for the area unfortunately.

Thanks, Ron...I was obviously unaware of the current situation.

You might try Automotive Specialists in Noblesville or RPM Transmissions in Anderson.

The club has been to both locations in past years for dyno days...both have tuned performance cars for drag racing.

Again, I am not sure where their interests lie today.

You might consider sending a PM to Steve M and ask who he uses in the Dayton area.

Unfortunately, I do my own tuning, so I won't be of much help. I'm not sure of anyone around here that tunes Vipers to be honest, but I've also not really looked all that hard. Most shops that do tuning focus on cars with large production numbers - unicorns like Vipers (and especially ones that are modded) generally don't make a good business case, which makes it that much more difficult to find someone that knows what they are doing.

I know you don't want to send files back and forth, but in your situation, I'd probably start with Dan Lesser at Viper Specialty Performance.

3.55s for you? Just got done doing that swap myself, although I just swapped in an entire Gen 5 unit since I didn't want to try my hand at negotiating Dayton's local gear swap talent pool.

Thanks for jumping in, Steve. I suspect a "mild tune" could be done around here but I would suggest sending a boosted car "out".

Try giving David Griffin a call at 317-512-4778. He worked for Hennessy and now SCT. He has a dunk and is located in Indy. He did my Hellcat for me and can do Vipers without a problem.

I realize this is an older post, but Fathouse Fabrications in Martinsville does great tuning and have an inhouse dyno. I personally know the owners and the tuner. They do great work on a wide variety of cars. I know theyve done a few Vipers in the lst, ab i will be taking mine there for any tuning needs.

So I'm back, though Dave is a nice guy and knows his tuning the gen 2 viper is not in his wheel house, I spent a lot of money and went backwards. There are a few oddities with the gen 2 that you really have to deal with often to be proficient at. Anyone have any other ideas for SCT tuners really anywhere in the country?
