New here ACR in EU

Hey All together,

I´m new here and plan to buy or import an ACR to Germany or Austria.

It started a couple of months ago since when i keep hearing to many voices which now stick in my head - that also 991.1GT3RS drivers f.e. will be really happy with an ACR. As long we do not speak about daily/street driving... i don´t care if bumpy, loud, etc. Those "issues" for me are part of the character of a car. Emotion.
if i´m honest the 991GT cars / my 991GT3RS is nearly to good in it / in everything. Now i´m searching something "edgy" as a Caterham is for example.
Had years ago a camed C6Z06 - but didn´t liked it that much - apart from the engine. Was missing the precission / the chassis / brakes / suspension / steering.

Regarding warranty i will have an issue within EU. but yeah... anyhow...
Which importing i´m quite experienced. further i would have also one, two professionals on hand which could assist.


Now i´m searching a good example to buy already within the EU (with US title or not i don´t care). Or to import one straight away from US.
if someone knows one - please post in here or PN me anytime. no jokes. if the offer is good i will buy.

i would appreciate it if members like stradman f.e. could chim in - or other EU members with their experience / story how the ACR found the way in their garages.


Geiger Karl from munich i know; but didn´t contacted him up till now. To deal with Geiger i remember back in my Corvette days is like shopping in a pharmacy...
To pay 150.000€ incl. import tax of 10% and on everything adding the VAT of 19% should lead to around 120-130.000USD which should be fine for a good slightly used one in US.

If you’re gonna import one and toss the warranty out the window, consider hitting up Woodhouse and get the 9.0 Liter Stage 2 Head and cam package done before it makes the voyage..

The problem is of course that in Europe you really do not have much choice in finding a Gen V ACR. There are only a couple available on mobile.de (although you could try Schooners brokers to see if they can import one for you) OR do it yourself as a personal import-although you will need to get vehicle approval in your country to get it registered I guess. Which country are you in?
I also think now that the Viper has stopped production, prices are probably going to firm up and so unlikely to go down too much . Also regular currency fluctuations will have an important bearing on final price when you finally buy.
So lots of variables. However if you do manage to buy one you will love it! It is a faster and more balanced and stable track car than the the 991 GT3RS imv. And here in Europe the car is a minor celebrity!
I'm currently at Spa Francorchamps for 2 days to enjoy the car!

I do wonder however if the car is mainly for track use(as my car is), whether the 9.0 liter H/C is necessary or in fact whether its counter productive(due to increased heat and possibly more limited engine life on the track) . Most limitations with people on the track in this car is the not the power of the engine. Its getting experienced enough to utilise its maximum handling potentional to the fullest...

Honestly it rides better than my 997.2 GT3 did. The biggest issue is ground clearance if if set to track height and, yes, decibels. It's quite loud. Or at least my ACR is as it's not one of the GTC-based 1-of-1 cars with the sound insulation package...

Other than that though it's remarkably refined / comfortable. Don't get me wrong...it's an extreme experience but no more so than a GT3 RS.

with schooner i´m in contact. i firstly thought its a press car - but it misses the full aero package (diffusor, big front lip) - do i need the big aero package for full experience?
i do drive (fast) on my back and mountan roads here in Austria/Bavaria and around 10 track days a year... but full aero would be always nice


SharpMan, i do think the same that the ACR will not be that more a unconfortable race machine than the RS is.

Are you guys tracking the ACR´s also without dry-sump?

i heard from two totaled engines without dry-sump on the NOS and other racetracks without dry-sump... Will it survive with the normal oilsump and semi slicks (not full slicks) also when tracking it?

We offer a bolt on electric actuated Accusump kit complete with oil line made for the GenV Viper if you are looking for cheaper safety margin for the track.

I think that sounds like Geiger trying to convince people to pay 40k Euros to modify the cars for dry sump.....From reading feedback on so many people tracking their ACR's I really do not think this is absolutely necessary, however you need to monitor oil levels carefully as they will be sensitive to low levels if you track. I'm not saying you couldn't have an engine problem but I certainly do not think this is the end all of be all....

Personally i would go for the full aero package if you track a lot or car is used mainly for track. I think that added extra aero features will help. And if you don't get them and then track often you will always wish you did.
ACR-Extreme were from 2016 and 2017 models only AFAIK....
