    An Intro And A Question

Howdy all, I've been lurking for a few weeks now and wanted to post since I've enjoyed the forum so much. I've lusted after a Viper since I was a kid and the original was released. I'm looking to get into a gen v in the next month or so and it's been fun researching all the available options and whatnot. Bit of a kid in the candy shop, hard to decide what I want.
So, I think I've got a handle on what I want, but I do have a few questions. I've run into some cars that show the R29 as complete on FCA's website. It does not mention the R28 portion, can I assume this means it "passed" the oil analysis and required only the baffle?
Also, does the 100k warranty extend to any vehicle that was issued the R28/R29 letter or only those that had the engine replaced?
Thanks for the help, this site has been a wealth of information for me in this process, and once I am officially an owner, I'll be joining VOA. I'm in the Chicagoland area and it appears they have a large and active chapter.

engine had to be replaced under R28/R29 recall to get the 10 year powertrain extension. You can also buy a 8 year maximum care FCA warranty from a ClayR here for a great price if you wanted some more coverage on a used one.

That's not accurate. The engine did not have to be replaced. All R28/R29 cars should have the 10 year extension. I have an extension and engine was not replaced.

That's not accurate either, only R28 cars get the 10 year warranty.

This, whether the engine replaced or not.

But are there R28 cars that aren't also R29 (i.e. R28 only). I thought all R28's also had R29? Hence the "R28/R29" in my response.

All R28 are also R29 cars. But not all R29 cars are R28.

2015s had the R29 (rerouting of the make up air line from driver's side valve cover) but not necessarily the R28. All 2013 and 2014s had R29 as well.
