Yep, the tint is 20% all around. It's illegal in IL but enforcement isn't extensive. It helps to blend in the air scoop behind the window and bring more black onto the car which I wanted as a contrast. Back window was strange to tint. You can only stick the tint 3/4 of the way up due to defroster grid which is dense and turns solid. You can't tell from the outside of the car as the whole window looks black, but from the inside it looks strange as it looks like you're missing 10" of tint from the top of the window.
The side fades and pin strip is actually vinyl. It's clear vinyl with a printed density, and the more you fade, the more the color of the car comes through. Being Vinyl, it can peel off when I want. I've done it on many of my past cars.
I do notice that the set of black lugs I bought to black out these wheels isn't holding up like the ones I have on the 08. Even on first use, the finish gets marred even without an impact wrench. JonB will get a call - I need to buy the ones I bought from him a couple years ago, those were metric but solid and they held up perfectly.
I'll say the GenV indeed grows on you the more you explore it. I've driven several GenV's previously and sat in them quite a bit, but until you really take a close look at it you do begin to respect all it's improvements even more. It really is an amazing car and on a whole very cohesive. This is strange but I'm more excited about this car than any other viper I've owned (except for my 1994 - first Viper). I think it's because so much of what I wanted the car to be, now is. No more 3rd party nav, cell phone in hand, etc... when on cruises. And the storage behind your shoulder is really useful. I love the electronics and the interior flows. The outside is killer, just fell in love with the TA. The orange is the perfect shade. But a green convertible is most certainly in my future as well, that will be our road car. Sadly my only real complaint about the coupe is that being 6'4" by head scrapes the headliner. No hopes for a helmet, so racing is going to be interesting. We did spend hours considering how to fabricate something to lower the seat but it seems we'd only pickup up an inch at the very most and it would cause other issues. If anyone finds a way to lower those seats, I'm all ears.
P.S. And Mr. Austin - Not sure why you're so angry, but I don't believe most people post pics of their cars as a request for judgment. Sorry it brings you to vomit, wow. I don't buy my cars to make others happy... but you can feel free to paint yours however you'd like when you get one.
Thanks all the rest for the kind words. New addition to the family is always a fun time - even if you can only roll it forward and back a few feet since there's a foot of snow outside.
