I'm with you George. I don't know why but I laughed for a good two minutes when I read your comment.

    Excellent News ! Finally !

An official run is what I wanted and whatever the outcome will be, it would still be hard to beat.

Thanks to the biggest supporters and the Viper community !

Hey I got another "Donation" email this morning.. saying they were still shy ~$1100.
    Thought everything was handled.

  5. #55
The Go Fund Me site shows $165165 raised as of this morning. That's around $6K more than they were asking for.

    Probably to cover fees?

Or the SCG 003 that just did a 6:32 at the Ring.

Lets go ACR. Regardless of time it will be one of the fastest production cars on the Ring period, regardless of monetary value. 6:49 - 6:52 spread is my prediction.

Hope it kicks ass, but I don't see it being that much quicker then the X was. With the repave it should break into the 6:5XX though. Good luck Dom

Something's fishy. The Go Fund Me is down to $164900 from $165165. Did someone back out??

I saw a McLaren today with 2 pipes dead center over the license plate today that I didn't recognize-- so after seeing this post I just googled the P1 and that was 100% it.

What colors will the cars be?

To be clear though, that was a Mclaren P1 LM prototype, a track-only Mclaren P1 GTR converted by an aftermarket company to be street legal. Not a production car. The actual P1 nurburgring time was never released, assumingly because it was slower than the Porsche 918 time.

Also the Glickenhaus SCG 003 was a GT3-spec race car at the Nurburgring 24 hour GT3 race. Still impressive but not street legal or production. They have a street legal version, but that wasn't the one that posted the nurburgring time.

The time to beat is still the 6:52.01 by the Huracan Performante.

I concur with all you said regarding both the P1 LM and the SCG 003. Not the competition the ACR is aimed at. Both purpose built racecars period.

OT: Interesting thing about the SCG is the street version while having the same DF range as the race car, it is both lighter and can come with more power than the race car that did the 6:32. So I would love to see what the street version on full kill could do in the hands of a race car driver around the Ring. I think they are selling the SCG 003 as if it was a kit car if memory serves so it would not be a true production car in the mold of the ACR, Performante etc. But if you are a car guy you just have to be impressed with the SCG. I believe it will beat any thing from any of the hyper car MFG's (P1 LM, FXXK etc).

Yeah I saw the walk around of the car about how they wanted to apply LMP1 prototype-style aerodynamics to a road car, was quite impressed.

That scg thing is cool looking but I don't know how you'd ever drive that on the street. It has about 2 feet of overhang in front of the front wheels and appears to be about 3" off the ground. No way the nose of that car would even survive most roads in the US
