Damn you people worry about some stupid stuff...Your putting the cart before the horse! Lets see what the "VIPER" ACREXGTCGTS-R does first instead of having a hissy fit on what it will be called if it makes the record books.
I will bet 95% of ACR owners want it to set a record so that in their mind it will increase the value of their car as they sit in their garage telling all that will listen " My car holds the fastest production car record"

Literally, every time you post, I lose brain cells.

I didn't bring this up because I care about the value of my car increasing as a result. I actually don't even have an ACR.

I care, and many others care, mainly because we want this record to be counted in the eyes of the general public, because this community cares about this machine and is proud of it. Look what happened with the P1 LM. The GTS-R Gen V is NOT the same as the P1 LM, meaning it is not a super limited street legalized race car version of a production car. The fact that these cars are labeled GTS-Rs could easily cause confusion with people outside of this community who don't know these limited editions for the ACR were just visual changes.

Setting the record bodes well for all Viper owners from the guy who has a 92 all the way to the guys who have a car that looks virtually identical to the one that actually sets the record. I think anyone who would pay a premium for that distinction will understand which cars are mechanically identical to the record breaker and which are not. The funny thing is that even when you go to car shows and events, some "car guys" aren't even aware that the car was still being made or production is ending. Vipers aren't even on the radar of 95% of the "general public".
    Go Viper !

They should have used the silver ACRE with the black and red stripe. That's the modern version that most people will associate with a Viper.
People who aren't hardcore diehards won't have a clue will think a GTSR is a different model. When all it is, is an appearance package on a ACRE.

Agreed, I guess they chose the GTS-Rs because they had a couple spare, unsold?

No, because they figure they will fetch the highest price for them after the time is set

    +1 Well said.

After this, if anyone asks, my car is a "GenIV / GenV / ACR Hybrid".

    Go Viper!

Incredibly, but not surprisingly, that a few are bickering over the fact that two ACR-E's are rocking the the 'Ring right now because they have GTS-R stickers on them. It's a fng Dodge Viper. Un-clench that pucker vortex you got going on there and enjoy the ride.

When the ACR-E / GTC Special Edition Car takes back the ring record the bogus argument that the car isn't a true ACR or that it isn't so special will be defeated once & for all. There's a very exciting week ahead in Germany. Buckle up...

LOL,Better be careful as you probably don't have too many to start with Mr. I had to change my username and start a separate thread on my special Viper.I won't even drive my car until a full condom is on it because its painted a pretty Ferrari color, oooooo look at me I am special,lol...pathetic.
My point was/is the car running the Ring is a VIPER first and foremost! Do you really think the general public gives a crap about what version of the Viper it is let alone the record itself??
The record will only matter to the die-hard enthusiast of the Viper community and they will know what version of the Viper did it if it happens. Or are you the guy that will be arguing with a Huracan Performante owner telling him Lamborghini cheated during their Ring run and the Viper lost or beat you because it wasn't/was painted in the GTS-R paint scheme?

Go get that record VIPER ACREXGTCGTS-R!!!!

Hahahaha for someone you find so pathetic, you sure did spend a lot of time reading and observing my posts!

Sorry, but, what did you call our cars? "subpar 85-100K products..." Oh yeah that's right...

Now all of the sudden you care about a Ring record? You're an absolute joke.

Can someone get this guy off these forums? No one has even been able to confirm he owns a Viper or knows any useful or accurate information about them.

Honestly, I don't get it why such a topic can lead to so many negative vibes between people?

I just hope, that this was not triggered by the labeling of my short video yesterday ...

    You are welcome!

Looking at the weather forecast I don't think they will drive at all on Monday, lots of rain the complete day... I also don't think that they have already done a hot lap. At least on Friday, when I was there, the track was used by other manufacturers as well, so "open loop" instead of "closed loop" (to make use of the PCM term ;-) )

I don't know how long they will stay, but it might take until the weekend for the weather to recover completely

The weather there is known to be very volatile and hardly predictable... just remember this years 24h race end of May. It was one of the hottest days and all races (warm-ups, qualifyings etc.) could be carried out without a single rain drop. Sun, blue skies and VERY warm. But then imagine, 30 minutes before the end of the 24h race, clouds showed up and dropped their load. It was a game changer, the leading team ended up on 3rd place if I remember correctly.

Well, let's hope for the best and cross fingers!!

    Not at all man.

Thank you for posting the video. The point I made about the ACR vs. GTS-R was just a friendly topic of discussion and I wanted to know if others shared the same view / concern.

Some people decided to take that as an invitation to run their mouths without contributing anything of substance to the conversation.

I'm excited for this attempt and I hope we get more content soon!

Bashing someone who just bought a new car on the forum you are posting on, what a dullard.

I for one think they picked the best car for the job...GTS-R all the way!

In all seriousness, I think everyone that knows enough to inquire about the Viper's record ring run knows enough to know that the car is ultimately an ACR-E...and a very good looking one at that

Dude, give it a rest. No one cares what you think. I have an ACR-E and I am getting a GTSR to hold onto as well. Do i think it will be worth more of they get the record? Maybe. Do I care? No. If you know your Viper history, you would know the GTSR livery is the highest resale value of any Viper against its original MSRP. I guess if you joined the club in 99', you wouldn't understand.

After reading over some of your past posts it's pretty clear you haven't really contributed anything of value to this site but your own commentary. Or perhaps your the kind of person that thinks that if one has a high post count that somehow make what you write relevant. Well I won't steel your thunder by putting you in your place here. I will rather take the high road and let you believe whatever it is you think you are. Even though I know you will read this as it is easy to see by your post count that this forum is a very very big part of your life. But you must remember even though this forum is very important to you. You on the other hand you are of little importance to this forum.

I was trying to share info that mite help someone. You on the other hand only offer your commentary that for some reason "you" don't understand that most on here most likely could careless about. It's a shame that "Enthusiast" like yourself are aloud to even post on here. For one you don't support the site by even becoming a member and two it would be the dribble you do post on here.

I simply retold what I was told by the tech and I also said I would be going back down there on Monday if anybody wanted anymore detailed info on the car.

Your high post count amounts to dribble and your calling me out??Please come back when you can afford a Viper again...

You wouldn't know the high road if it hit you in the head. Give us all a break. Stop your rant please!!
I bought a Viper ACR but knew nothing about them other than they looked badass and I'm a speed junkie. I collected Mopars in the 80's and 90's having owned a 63 Max Wedge Plymouth, 66 426 Hemi HP2 Belevedere and also a 67 Dodge Coronet WO23 Superstock which I donated to the Peterson museum. It's still a part of their permanent collection. One thing I learned along the way was to befriend people who knew a lot more than me about certain collector autos in which I had an interest. I have learned a lot from this group and thank them for helping me better understand the Viper. I love the car.
What I don't understand is the constant arguing, put downs, name calling etc. What brings us together is a love of the Viper. Aren't we supposed to be helping each other?? Sure, we'll have different opinions but we should learn from another point of view. It's getting to where I think twice before posting anything. Soon, I will just stop all together unless something changes in the way we treat other.
I also collect Porsche's and belong to 3 Forums. There its none of this attitude there. I think everyone need's to rethink why they joined the Association and strive to respect other points of view.
