4< seconds is not a small feat to improve but not improbable either. However if it takes out the 918 with a manual trans, hp deficit amongst other things it really will be impactful. GL. The last of what are real driver's car are leaving their mark fighting for each inch. Love it.

Yeah, track conditions looked good....bit worried about no news posted yet...hopefully the cars didn't fall apart on the track...

On the other hand...maybe they broke 7 and want to make sure everything is kosher before blasting it out to the world...

    Wishing for the best.

No news is good news IMO. It takes a little time to put together a press release and video stating the record has been broken

I work at a Porsche dealership, and we have replaced transfer cases, transmissions, and engines in track cars, all under warranty. Porsche wants their customers to DRIVE the cars. We even had a GT-4 Cayman Cup car with engine failure that we replaced under warranty.

By my calculations it is 4:30 p.m. over there now (and 10:30 a.m. EST here). So, they have been wrapped up for an hour already as they had the track from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. today.

It also just started raining about 30 mins ago over there per Accuweather live radar. So, my hunch is they had a dry track for their 2 hours.

If they were going to cut a fast time, they have done it by now and they are loading it up. Otherwise, they did mention the possibility of going back next week, but that was likely only if they had bad weather.

Technically his "Holy $hit" was with a video that had the Viper flying through the track...should be good?

I'm assuming they were standing on the side with a stop watch a few times and seeing if they were coming back before the 7 minute mark. But I'm doubtful that statement has anything to do with lap time, just saying the car is a beast as it drives by.

no I bet they beat the 7 mark, they are holding out to see how much more they can get

Mine has been replaced after 600 miles and it still whines a bit. Now I'm just waiting that it blows up to get it changed again... if I have one grippe against this car that'd be the diff.
I know, mine was replaced, and the replacement whines a little, at certain speeds, nothing like the old one. Very strange, as it's a Dana 44, a diff which has been used for years in many applications. I think some are just set up wrong from the factory, and/or not broken in properly.
