GREAT news and GREAT drivers. Sooooo glad Farnbacher is back. And Luca is no joke.

As for the time to beat. I'm not totally convinced on the Hurrican Performante run but it seems like that 6:52x time it did is the current production benchmark. I think the Snake will beat it....

Yeah it seems so odd that Lamborghini would have the subordinate model outperform it's flagship. Since I owned Gallardo for four years I really wanted to like the huracan successor. The dual clutch made it feel like it was just a car and there's much more audi in it imo. I tend to believe 918 lap times but do doubt the performante ones honestly. I think the ACR will put down impressive numbers. If it takes back the ring record it's really going out on top!

I think Porsche should rerun the 918 since the repave. The Huracan definitely benefited from the repave and so will the Viper that's why I think it will beat the Huracan time, that is if they have great weather.

but people forget they got this record using a spesific slicks that u can buy from pirelli,so i hope in return khumo hooks up the viper in both regular and slick tires

I'm sure someone has done an analytical computation of a likely laptime.

One could time the acceleration between turns by looking at video of the Performante and ACR from various track runs. Obviously, Performante has only run the Ring that I'm aware of, but there should be enough video to time various accelerations (i.e. 40mph to 100mph, 120mph, 140mph, 160mph). Then, we can compare to the ACR, for which we have loads of good video from the official FCA record runs. From that, we could determine how quickly each car can get between each turn at the Ring.

Then, we need to come up with a "correction factor" which imputes the higher corner entrance, mid-corner and exit speed for the ACR. Again, I would compare what Performante is carrying into, though and out of each turn at the Ring to what other cars are carrying (but you need to look at more recent runs to take into account the re-pave that was done). For example, we could compare Performante entrance, mid-turn and exit to say the 991.2 GT3 which just ran the Ring in 7:12. Let's say the differential is an additional 5mph for the Performante vs the 991.2 GT3 around 40mph turns, 7mph around 80mph turns, and 10mph around 120mph turns.

Then, we could look at videos from other tracks to see how much more MPH the ACR can carry through similar speed turns (40mph, 80mph, 120mph) against the benchmark car (in this example, the GT3). We should be able to figure out roughly how much more speed the ACR is carrying. Suppose it comes out to approx. 10mph for 40mph turns, 15mph around 80mph turns, and 20mph around 120mph turns.

We can then "build" a model run of the Ring from the Performante video.

If I had enough time on my hands, I would run the computation myself. I'm sure VE has done it and knows what they are shooting for.

I thought it was shown that the Lambo times were faked?

No way. It's far more fun to hypothesize about anticipated times on the Internet. In fact, I think this is one of the reasons why Internet forums were created in the first place

Nurburgring discussions wield a special power though, more so than the usual internet form of bench racing. People will look right past any kind of empirical data taken from the same car on other tracks AND viable published metrics such as download to drag ratio, final drive, powercurve, etc. They laugh at these things and instead jump straight to something I can only describe as "conjecturneering."

REALITY is one thing - a computer model is virtual, i.e. pure theory.
Tire pressure, rain, suspension setup, alignment, drivers mood, drivers ability, sunshine, wind, grip/tires, aero, ....factors. So many!

It's great that it will take place.
I will be there on July 17th, for a trackday. Maybe they start the next day.

AWESOME!! Way to represent and Best wishes to CRUSH ALL OBSTACLES!!

WOW!! This is such exciting news that those involved would organize such a momentous event. Who knows what will happen but this definitely brightens the summer!

Maybe this will inspire FCA to get cracking on the Gen VI!?? (Or keep working on it!)
