Not everything is money in a business. Honda kept making the first NSX for years even though they lost money because it represented the pinnacle of the brand and it brought positive attention to the brand globally. Same thing with the Snake imho. It was the halo car so some of us feel that they could have done one last thing for the car that brought people to their brand for decades.
I guess in a way they are still going to get FREE positive light globally by this grassroots effort that they choose not to get involved with...But what's 200k or so for one last hurrah to a billion dollar company? Pretty sure they had misc budgets they could have used to fund it or used their influence to get industry sponsors to step up. I mean at least do something. Anyway thats just my opinion. Nothing more, nothing less.
They are not interested when no more than 500 people will read about it on FB.
Maybe they can take the Demon out to the Ring and when that pesky turn shows up after the straight we can get some track time for the ACR...seriously, 100K for FCA is like $5 for most of us.

Day 9: Update... There's a lot going on for Viper lovers. Below, you'll find how we are rocking the automotive world with international stories about our mission and how we're going about accomplishing it. Check out the links in the comments below.
Next, look for the in-car video to be up on-line within the next 24 hours. Watch how fast Dominik Farnbacher responds. That's what makes him so good. Finally, after much head scratching and discussion, we feel that there is 5 seconds more in the car. That would bring us down to a 6:58. Will it beat the Porsche 918 time? We will have to return NEXT MONTH to find out. We were lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time and got 3.5 hours in August. The only thing I'm waiting for prior to booking it, is a couple of single end-of-the-day runs, in case it rains for the entire 3.5 hours that we book. The 3.5 hours will cost approximately $45,000. That does not include the cost of traveling, hotels, etc. for the crew. So, it looks like we're crowdfunding again. Please go to https://www.gofundme.com/take-back-the-ring-record This has turned into a herculean effort, but we think it's worth it. Help if you can.
Man this is exciting..guess I'll have to throw some $$ their way
Guess FCA couldn't find any extra cash from their profits in Q2
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reported a profit of $1.35 billion in the second quarter, up 207% over the same period a year ago as gains in several of the company's foreign regions helped it overcome slower sales in North America.

Just saw a post on Rennlist that implies that the Vipers are not stock. From what I read it seems that someone at the Ring claims to have seen them "tweaking" the cars suspension.
I don't know if it's with non-stock items or just a lack of knowledge about how adjustable the Vipers aero and suspension are bonestock. It could be that as I had a silly argument with a guy online about that same issue. Some think that if you adjust the suspension from it's as delivered stock settings, then it's magically NOT stock. Rubbish thinking but some feel that way. Wouldn't be surprised if that is what the onlooker at the Ring is reporting as not stock tweaking.
Anyone in the know that can clear this up?
When is the announcement of the record?
Clear what up? I didn't see them; but I guarantee 100% that they were tweaking the suspension. That is EXACTLY why the factory provided adjustment points for tweaking the suspension and aero for each track configuration and driver preference. If someone doesn't understand this, it is useless to try to explain it to them.
