Hi Steve, I was not thinking so much about "Dodge/mopar" making a better hub, more like some of our Aftermarket Vendors
An example that comes to mind is The Cometic gaskets which are superior to the mopar ones sold by Viper Speciality Performance.
Then you have companies like Ipsco that make Billet parts for Steering pumps Suspension parts etc....And of course all our other Vendors

SKF made the hubs/bearings for the C6 ZR1 and I believe they are the OEM supplier for all the new Corvettes, but they also build heavy duty replacement bearings for some of the earlier Corvettes. They are pretty much the standard in that community.

First window is Wendesday, but it will be a green track so it'll be hard to find grip. Today would have been ideal if it hadn't rained as the races over the weekend would have laid some nice rubber on the track. What a shame.

Well at least they now have time to play with the Wheel Hubs!

Latest from the Ring hints that they will be packing it in and hopefully returning in August. That would really be a shame. Haven't seen official word from the team yet.

Good point...curious to know if this issue was just a fluke, or is something all ACR owners will eventually have to contend with given the additional loading from the aero bits.

This is not a terrible idea. Keep the cars there (I'm sure they can find a friendly local Viper dealer/shop like Geiger to display them), and then just fly the team back in when the weather cooperates.

I doubt they would keep the cars displayed in a public dealership where people could possibly tamper with the cars.

There has been a lot of good info, pics, videos, vlogs and blogs posted on Facebook. I suggest following:

-Nurburgring Bridge to Gantry (a good 10 min vid posted this morning)
-The Viper Record Ring Run Powered by Kumho and Co-sponsored by Prefix
    -Prefix
    -Doug Shelby Engineering
    -Fox Production Films

Oh boy, that would be a real kick to the carnards.

Well, everything happens for a reason, we'll see how this plays out for the better.

My hats off to those sponsors and we 373 contributors. All Viper owners will receive a $ value boost should Russ, Ben and these passion crazed supportors pull this off. History will have a harder time forgetting these Vipers and the venom they released on the performance car nation. We should see it raise their collectability.

Can you provide link to source "hints", as all I have read "on to Plan B" on Facebook page

The bridge to Gantry vlog this morning was amazing. It was refreshing to hear a logical person on the internet.

There has obviously been a lot of discussion about the (lack of) C7 Z06 Nurburgring time. People who are familiar with the track, weather, schedule, traffic, etc. have all indicated that it's relatively tough to get everything to cooperate to obtain a "clean" lap.
    This sort of proves that.
I'm personally not vested in this and don't really have much interest in it, but hopefully they'll won't go home without getting in the laps they have been preparing for over the last week or two.

As bad as the forecast for today was, and as bad as the morning weather was, the skies still did clear some, the track dried (some) and there are cars on track. I suspect there were still damp areas that would hurt or prevent a record attempt, but the weather is forecast to be better mid-week. If there is a chance they can get suitable track time (clear track), I hope they hang in there at least a couple of days to "take a look".

    Pappy

Edit: The ever-changing forecast is now showing rain on Tue/Wed with mostly sunny on the weekend. Go figure.

Are they going to have the funding to do that? Seems like it would be better to wait till the sometime in September to run again and have some cooler weather.
