Drove the TA 2 0 last night and loved it but

What is up with that bouncing in race mode? Seems to be coming from the rear.

As soon as we switched it back into street mode (or whatever it's called), it went right away.

It's pretty severe. What is causing that? Driveline lash?

Is the ACR-E, with its much stiffer suspension, going to be like that all the time?

What's the best way to reduce it on ACR-E's?

Other than that, the car is really terrific. Forgot how much I love that tight cockpit and steering feel. Power felt great too (compared to my old Gen III).

No bouncing on my '14 with the same dampers I believe. Overly firm damper valving makes Race Mode harsh though.

Scott, I too went from a Gen 3 to 5. I think more than the power increase, it is how quickly the car will rev, with the lighter flywheel that you're really going to get used to, and the different clutch engagement (I've stalled my 5 more than I ever did the 3).

As for the bouncing, I have a Track Pack car, which I understand from others who have gone from my (non-adjustable) suspension on to TAs or ACRs is fairly harsh. But haven't had "bouncing". Can you possibly take a video and post it?

Yes, the much faster rev is something I noticed right away. That is definitely a huge improvement. Gen III used to feel a bit lazy as it ran up the RPM's, which always made the car feel much slower than it actually was. The Gen V is quite a different beast in that regard.

I think you are just experiencing the nature of the stiffer suspension. My GTS behaves similarly.

Scott, did you just pick up a new TA2 and do you also own or are buying an ACR-E? I can tell a noticeable difference in my GTS when in street mode vs track but haven't noticed any "bouncing" just considerably more stiff and feeling all of the imperfections of the road....

No, still waiting on my ACR-E. Wanted to drive a Gen V and was able to snag a ride. Love the car. In person, it really, really looks great. I mean, it is stunning how much better the cars look in real life as opposed to in photos.

Well congrats on the ACR-E to be. I think a lot of us really went back/forth on the TA2 vs ACR when building. Time will tell if we all made the right calls based on our driving needs/expectations for the car's use.

Well put. Went through that very question over and over. Even to the point of asking those that had lots of seat time in each, or at least the ACR in comparison to the other group SRT/GTS/TA. With 90-95% street use for us those inputs were significant.
