ACR s first bath

Been five months since delivery. My break in period is behind due to the winter months. But was time for the first wash. Typically I'm a meguair's guy but wifey bought me an Adam's polish kit for my bday a few months back and was excited to try it out. Basically the bucket itself becomes your basin. There's a mechanism inside at the bottom that encourages dirt to drop below it keeping it away from your wash material and applicator. Comes with nice drying towel. My favorite product was the buttery wax. Very easy to work with. Applies simply and polishes away just as nicely. Recommend the adam's kit, made for a great Sunday in the driveway.

I think I know what you mean I bought a "Grit Catcher" for the two bucket system keeps the floating dirt in the water at the bottom...And of course a California Duster!

Grit guard they are called. I bought mine from Griots. Also I bight griots in line water softener which works great if your water is hard. Outnhere in the desert ours is crazy hard and waterspots were a serious problem

Great looking ride! I use to use those Adam's wash pads, but stuff gets stuck in them so easily I switched to a microfiber nubby type hand mitt (Junkman recommended).

Because as a six time Viper owner I like to split my time between here and other forums while I wait for my latest toy to arrive. But you won't have to worry about that, you'll be "enjoying" the same car for the next 20 years lmaoooo. How exciting. Don't hurt yourself with the foam gun, you can put your eye out. Let the wife do it.

That Adams kit is great for a serious scrub.
Use the foam gun to make that wax job last and avoid damaging that beautiful finish. Easier on the back too.

I use a leafeblower. Arizona handles the hot air part for me. Really that's why I needed the in line water softener. The water would evaporate ultra fast and leave behind all the things that our water so hard. Water spots were a real problem. The in line filter makes that a thing of the past.

Let us know how the foam gun works out as well.

Actually, you don't want to buy the foam gun sold by Adam's for two reasons. One, it's all plastic. Two, it's way overpriced (as is a lot of stuff sold by Adam's, which is why they they are always eager to give you 10% off. If you mark something up 30%, 10% ain't diddly). The foam gun that you want to buy is sold by Gilmour, the original manufacturer. The model that you want is the Gilmour 75HGFMR (that's the half gallon but it also comes in a quart size). It is BRASS and plastic. It is also adjustable on the fly, which is a VERY important feature for adjusting how much soap you are dispensing at a time. Add to that, the brass coupling allows you to quickly connect and disconnect the hose from your foam gun. It's a much better design than the all plastic models. You can find them all day long on eBay. Here I am using it. Notice that I wash my car INSIDE my garage so that I don't have any water drying issues.

If you want to know WHY the foam gun is so important, take a look at this thread. It has nothing to do with making your wash easier, it's all about saving yourself from creating paint damage when you do wash your car. Even a white one.
