    Got Lucky

Managed to find a speaker upgrade kit. And then got it for less than I should have. IMG_5922.jpg

I think just one of the tiny speakers would be an upgrade over the stock ACR ones (although the sounds sucks so much that perhaps there's only one )

Don't we all. Hard to believe such a simple part is such a PIA.

Those woofers look like such crappy material.
One of these days i'll upgrade the entire system with Hi-Fi stuff

Nice job finding the kit though. Gotta sound better than the 12 speaker system.

I have the 18 speaker leguna seca speaker system in my LE but I gotta say my 2007 e550 with 110k on it sounds better. My Bang & Olfusen on my 2010 s4 sounds better too. Nothing to be jelly of, imho. I used to think it was good but that's because at first I used it for a song or two- then turned it off to listen to the motor. Now that I'm used to the car, I will concur with the majority that the sound is muddled and just crappy.

It's better than the 12 for sure, but I agree with everyone about it still not being great.
I went through my stereo phase when I was 19. Now I'm mostly deaf and just needed a little more oomph.
Took about an hour to install. For what I paid (about half of what Mopar had them listed for) it's been well worth it.

Is there a better option than oem since we can't even buy oem anymore?

I was thinking of trying to make grills before I found the kit. Was thinking something as simple as a wood form could be used to shape a grill. I have grills left over from various speakers. I might still try it just for fun.

I agree, looks pretty easy to stamp out, if a guy had the time or inclination.
