I would have not insulted anyone if they didn't talk their shit with out any experience on this mod... period.. I was being helpful and stating what my experience was with this mod. Not gonna waste Saturday on this bullshit. Like I said next time I'll just keep my experience to my self.. I thought this forum had less douche bags then viper alley but looks like they are spilling on to here

BTW, I have been racing and wrenching for many years, from Formula V to Big Bore Vintage to tube-frame Trans-Am cars so, to answer Hrysler, I'm talking from experience
For example, my Roush T/A did not have a T-stat or even a driller washer/restrictor ,flow rate was controlled by the diameter of the pipes coming from the WP
I will venture to say that some of us know more about cars in general and especially Viper ,that you will ever learn
    Have a good day
I'm not doubting your knowledge or experience. But your comment about my knowledge was not nessasary. I'm not saying I know everything, that's why I'm even on this forum. But there's a lot of things involved with the cooling system. From the fans, thermostat, pump, size of the radiator and even the coolant. I was just trying to say run the pulley and try it. Im going to. But to tell te truth I will be a little gun shy. This "roasting" thing is definitely not necessary. More like viper ally. That place is crazy. I won't make a post there. I've seen people get ripped on for asking about an oil change. To many "experts" there.

So how is the pulley working? Moving on from all the drama. :-) thanks Boosted

^^^ this has to be my favorite one so far in this thread. I'll pick up where Camfab has left off roasting you.

So tell me, mr. live in chicago where the climate isn't squat compared to the hot weather we drive these cars in, exactly how are you quantifying this "didn't notice anything different in the water flow?" Seat of the pants? You can't feel the water flow any different in the pedals seat and steering wheel so contrary to any and all physics and mechanical principles you make a statement that therefore there is no change? Or did you install some flow instrument and do a before and after flow test?

lmao you are getting called out and owned here. I laugh at these mods and the claims 5 minutes after they are installed about how much better the car is. Pep boys ricer talk.
The clown has entered the room. I showed how to install it, it's a highly debated mod that I am trying out. Never once did I give my opinion whether it should be done or not. Do you ever contribute to the forums or is this just your happy place that you enjoy being an absolute A hole to everyone? You must be a very popular guy with a ton of friends....

Thanks Hrysler! Still testing it out, as I was discussing with Camfab (who also seems interested in non-biased real world info) I will be seeing how my car performs under extreme heat this summer and if I encounter any cooling, charging, or other issues.

    I'll keep everyone updated!

Anyone know if these can be installed on Gen1's? This is definitely a mod I would try.

    THIS!

Must those with strong opinions (and supreme confidence in their own Viper "wisdom") consistently insist on personally disparaging any and everyone who disagrees with them? Enough of this crap! Stick to disparaging the opinion rather than the person! Seriously, people!

Apologies to Boosted for my intrusion, but this is the last of tolerant warnings.

I installed mine before my last track day. I'm not sure how big of a difference there was, but it felt good and I never had any issues with it.

OK, I'll chime in here, I have this pulley fitted. My car is 17yrs old now and Im in the higher milage bracket. (at almost 80K).
    2000 Fast Red GTS.

I run the Green coolant as per mopar spec.
I have a 180d thermostat also fitted and a new temp sensor.

Bear in mind I am the 3rd owner of the car, as far as I am aware the radiator has never been changed or the water pump.

I have had issues in the past with overheating from electrical problems (melted fan relays). I too have no idea on weather this aluminium pulley adds to engine heat? Mine has been on the car for a while now, but I do find my eyes wandering most of the time checking the temp gauge rather than the speedometer!

There have been various threads on Radiators, some prefer the factory one, others choose Aluminium.
The one option that Dave 6666 did do was to fit additional pusher fans to the other side of the radiator, forcing additional air through it.

I noticed when I drove in Spa Belgium, that after a couple of laps the temp gauge was very, very high! (about I segment off the red)!

Im sure a new radiator will help get things back under control, but I do like the idea of forced air through the Radiator

Thanks Boosted for the Videos, the Gen II Section is far too quiet nowadays, with many new people purchasing Gen Vs

Now in the past Dave 6666 has been very helpful to past members and used to post various ideas on how to keep a car cool, especially in Texas heat (which is probably hotter than the United Kingdom)..........Just

No apology necessary! I think most of us can agree we are here for helpful information, and a positive interactive environment.

Well at least Dave gives correct information. Unlike some of the posts I have read so far. Boosted as always, thanks for the vids. You do a damn good job of going through all the small stuff that doesn't normally make it into the How To's.

Not me. I enjoy the snark and back and forth. Would be extremely boring if everyone got along all the time. And besides, there are always going to be strong beliefs both ways of an issue. Let the boys flesh it out sheesh

Dave can defend himself but if you honestly feel as though he provides no benefit to the community then I would urge you to take personal conflicts out of the mix and look at things broader. He is rough around the edges but when push comes to shove he does come to help when someone is stuck. He gets very frustrated with "upgrades" but when it comes to technical problems and help he is a very solid resource. I get his sense of humor so it doesn't bother me but I can see how it can others.

I personally find amusement in his interactions with Boosted and how boosted responds. I actually have been looking for hidden cookies in Boosted video's jabbing at him (or others) a bit when he says "upgrade". While I personally fall more in the category of Boosted when it comes to modding our cars I can fully respect Dave's opinion and passion for more originality.

In relation to this mod. I still know that by design this mod will lessen the flow rate of coolant as well as the alternators ability to charge the car. While moving I have zero concern with the mod. It's the times I'm basically idling in traffic for 10 mins that makes me hesitant to proceed with the mod as it would make me nervous. And for that I think the mod may just not be for me.

Move to the Midwest. If I sit still for more than 5 minutes, it's because I'm waiting for a Sonic bell hop to bring me my drink.

If I could convince my family to we would be gone in a heartbeat. I was born in central Texas and 38 years later I'm kind of over it. Frustrating when it takes an hour to go 15 miles. I know other cities can be worse but at some point it starts to wear you down. I literally live 6 miles from my work and it takes 30 mins to get there when I go into the office.

Not to mention I would love to go somewhere that has 4 seasons and not just 4 different variations of summer.

Around here, however many miles you are from work, that's how many minutes it takes you to get there.

Well up here we definitely have 4 different seasons! I will list them in order: Almost winter, Winter, Still Winter, Construction/Driving.
Ok ok its not actually that bad. Usually I can get my car out from May to early October-ish.
It sure is nice in June/July though when we still have day light at 10PM
