Picking my ACR Extreme from Gerry Wood next Friday

Talked to Jimmy at Gerry Wood the other day. My gunmetal (no stripes) ACR showed up over the weekend. With my pesky work travel schedule, I'm not able to fly there till after a meeting in Tampa the 11th. I'll be driving her home to Columbus, Ohio the 12th. I can't wait!!!!

I'll try to remember to take pics along the drive home.

man, i think these types of fly in drive home deals are the best. It give you plenty of time to understand and begin to understand the car. Enjoy!!

Agreed. These are great trips to take. I'm doing it more and more now, even for very mundane DD's. In fact, I'm heading up to Atlanta Sunday morning to purchase a Jeep Grand Cherokee and drive it back. The drive is beautiful and relaxing, just pop on a Sirius radio channel and enjoy the peacefulness for a few hours/days. That, and I'm done with South Florida dealers.

Congrats. I love that color on an ACR (and on mine). Aggressive yet rich in design. Enjoy. You won't be disappointed in your choice.

It should be a nice sunny drive up 77N to Ohio. I know that I'll have to stop at least once for gas/food along the way. I'll take pics.

I just have to clean up the garage and the lift to make room for her. Thank god it's going to be a rainy weekend here in central Ohio so I won't be tempted to be doing anything else. It'll take a little while for her to get used to an all Ford garage, but I think the others will play nice.

Picked up my ACR from Gerry Wood last Friday and drove her home to Columbus, Ohio.

A big thanks to all of the folks at Gerry Wood. Jimmy (sales rep), Kyle (sales mgr), Brad Wood, and all the others I can't remember names of. Everything went smoothly.

I did turn down the dealer logo license plate frame since I brought my own with me:

I would have taken pictures along the 7 hour ride home but it rained like hell for a good 4 hours of the drive. All of the rain came during what would have been the best part of the trip up 77North thru the mountains of Virginia and West by god Virginia. There was a severe pucker factor for awhile with all of the rain run-off on the highway. I was completely amazed at how well it handled with all of the rain and standing/running water on the roads. Had to slow down a little but never once hydroplaned.

She made it home on a tank and half which I thought was pretty good for over 400 miles. I'm thrilled with the gunmetal paint (I've had nothing but black cars in the past) and from a distance, the gunmetal hid the dirt very well. I took this pic just after I got home and parked her.

I've already installed the front tow hook and Doug's fender vent shields (the showed up in the mail the day that I left to fly down to pick her up). I would have loved to have had the shields for the drive with all of the rain and all.

Love that gunmetal, almost as much as billet silver, lol. Pics can't do it justice, such a wicked color in person, looks like a custom flake paint job. Congrats and enjoy. Absolutely beautiful car.
