    Gen 3 vs Gen 2 camshaft difference

    Can I use a gen 2, 3 bolt cam in my gen 3?

    No you cannot, the camshaft gear pin is in a different spot and the lobe timing is not correct. IF you place the cams side by side and put the gear pin at 12 o'clock you will see the difference... the ONLY thing in common, it fits in the block nothing else. BUT the good news for the gen 2 car reading this,if you order a cam from certain if not all suppliers they can drill the cam nose for the 3 bolt install normally for a small fee.- Since you are a gen 3 car, its stock three bolt is on any cam
