IPSCO Steering Rack Bushing Upgrade amp Install

Finally got around to editing the video of the IPSCO solid steering rack bushings. Another quality part that I would recommend. My oem bushings were looking dry rotted as expected from a 17 year old car and were pretty sloppy. Steering feel is much tighter and car is handling on rails lately with all the upgrades (will edit the video of some canyon driving soon).

Install is very straightforward. The old bushings will be sloppy and practically fall out when you remove the bolts. I only had one that needed a little bit of persuading but it was mainly from it being mushroomed between the rack and the frame.

Check the video for step by step

Very cool! I think if you continue with these videos, you will be the "go to" guy on Youtube for Maintenance Viper related.

My 2001 RT/10 also had that threaded block when I did this mod a few years ago...

Glad it wasn't just my car! I couldnt figure out why they didn't weld a nut in there? Only thing I could think of is they were worried about tolerances and welding the nut may not allow for any differences in the frame or rack from the factory. Still strange!

With 68k miles on the clock I could definitely feel a difference. Even still if your car has less miles (most do) I would still recommend as miles does not change the age of these cars and that the rubber is most likely dry rotted to some degree by now!

    Haha you're welcome!!!

I'll actually have the sway bar caps/bushing install posted in the next day or so too for ya! I know it is pretty straight forward but it illustrates just how sloppy and poor the original design is. You will definitely like these upgrades. Made a big difference on my car!

I even bought some new sway bar links. figured while i was there go ahead and do those too. I found some sway bar links that have a Powdered Metal Gusher Brg. For Better Lubrication. On rockauto might want to do those at the same time..

Any link to these endlinks? Mine are bad and I could use to replace them as well.

Appreciate it and I feel like a putz for having to ask now as they were sitting right in front of me and I never even noticed them when I was looking there. Going to pick them up.
