Funny story about quot Last Viper quot video

So browsing craigslist as usual for random car parts last week, I stumbled upon a set of ACR wheels. Asking price was $3000, I offered $2700. Wheels were being advertised as almost new. No scuffs or blemishes. I figured what the hell? I get a call back with the words "deal" attached to it. The seller informs me that they are at Rhys Millens shop in Huntington Beach. The whole thing sounds too good to be true to me. I get to the shop and Rhys is there himself. Turns out this set of wheels was used during the filming of the "Last Viper" video and he put about 25 miles on them. Chatted with him a sec and he showed me the video on his phone, drove home with a special set of ACR wheels. 😊

    Awesome!

I helped my friends do the sound on this commercial! They brought me in to ensure that all of the sound clips they recorded and mixed sounded like a true Viper. All the recordings in fact were, Vipers but you'll notice in some are from race spec GT cars. They are all Viper V10 sounds though!

I was thinking the same, based on the video footage.

Also...they appear metallic grey as opposed to black or brass. Special finish for the film or just the pics?

The wheels are still round. I believe there was another set that was sacrificed for that jump. Also, they did refinish the fronts of the wheels after shooting. This was disclosed to me when I went to pick them big it was not a deal-breaker for the price and the story.

They are brass. It's just the lighting.

Maybe it's just the picture but those look like polished brass wheels and not matte finish?

No, you are correct. As stated above, they did refinish them after the pennzoil shoot. They are brass with a shot of clear over them. They look sick in person. I'll put sunny pictures up when I mount them on the car.

I like the clear on the brass. Looks, um, brassy!
