    Door ding

Just pulled out my new 17 from a long winter and noticed a door ding in the passenger door How difficult is it to fix on the Gen V's? Kicking myself because I didn't notice it when it was delivered!

Doors are made from aluminum, not composite.

Find the best paintless dent removal guy known to man. I've used some really talented guys on some of my Porsche's with great success.

    Why?

And a PDR guy should be able to take care of it.

aluminum unlike metal doesn't have a memory and isn't as easy to remove dents/ so its more of a bitch to repair

I was concerned about the Aluminum. I'll try calling PDR to see what they say. Being black the ding really stands out, man I'm pissed.

Just went through this on the Maserati. ...and the wife is still around to talk about it. Haha. I used dent doctor in RI. It's not super far from you but probably too far for them to do the repair. Perhaps they can refer you to someone local. My repair involved metal, which was a pain. Ultimately it took one hour and was 150 bucks well spent. Good luck.

I can be done and will look like it never happened. Get the best Painless dent removal guy in your area. If it is around the middle of the door they will fix it. More difficult if it is around the door handle area where the door curves.

I had a ding removed off the door as well. I was super stressed, but remove ale from a top PDR guy in my area made it super painless. You are a bit far from me but if you want the guy comes to my house and does all my cars 123. Send me a PM if you need help!

Had no idea these cars switched to aluminum door skins. The previous plastic/composite skins were great - in the off chance that some soccer mom and her gaggle of kids come tumbling out of their minivan, at least the previous doors wouldn't dent.

The material switch definitely didn't change the feel or the sound of closing the doors. I was commenting the other day that my new Gen V has exactly the same door closing sound that my Gen II and Gen IV had. Never would have guessed that they changed the skin material.

At least your car has a paint that's easy to match if a worst case scenario happens...

It took a LOT of effort to damage the plastic/composite door skins. You could literally take a hammer to them (within reason) and not cause any damage to the structure. The paint could get scratched and chipped, but the composite body panels were very resistant to damage.
