    Lowering Spring Install Question

Hi Everyone. I am planning on installing some Eibach springs this weekend and have a question on the procedure. I am reading about the "ballast and torque" procedure for tightening the shock bolts under load, but from what I can find, it only applies to Gen 1/2 Vipers. Does anyone know if you need to follow that process for Gen 3s? Any assistance on this would be appreciated. Thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone on the Tombstone trip next weekend.

On my Gen3 I just bolted the shocks back in place. I've never heard of the procedure that you mentioned.

The lower mount for rear "fork" will bind if you tighten it at full droop. As with any rubber bushing you should have the weight of the car on the shocks if at all possible before you tighten into position. That's why they make these tools.
