    Off to the Garage

    Had it picked up and towed today. My mechanic put it up on the lift and get into it. Says I need to have clutch and slave cylinder replaced. He figures I am looking at about $1300 after all is said and done. Like I have recently read here - "It's always something"

    It should NOT cost $1300. $200-$300 for the clutch. $150 for the slave. 3 hours work max. Even at $100 an hour, $750 max. You need to find a new mechanic or learn to do it yourself. It is not that hard to do.

    $1300, sheesh. Rebuilt my trans for that, and 90% of the rotating assembly was replaced.

    Hope he is good mech. Best of luck.

    That towing company any good? Not that I need to tow the old girl anytime soon but its a huge concern if I ever have to.

    I'll try and remember to email you next time I'm at work. At lot has changed..... release is in.

    Of course , check the clutch oil , many a clutch repair on a Viper only needed a clutch fluid flush and refill.

    $1300 Canadian = $971 US dollar.
    Specialty speed shops usually charge $175/hr where I'm located. Niche industry. Personally I think $1300 "Canadian" is fair.
