    Family History

    To all,

One thing I have never seen on any of the websites is if any of the members have any significant family histories? A George Washington in your past? King of England?. Think it would be cool to see if any of the successful people here come from successful families.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time on ancestry.com and found that datng back at least three hundred years that I come from long line of "nobodies". I do not see our family status changing anytime soon.

With my Sir name everyone asks me if I am related to the actress Nicole, There are not that many of us in the UK but there are a lot in Australia. So I don't know if the name originated from there or whether it was in the UK before that?

My great grandfather was good friends with the guy who invented penicillin. That's as close as I come that I know of.

Exactly... I always joke that if she ever gets mad at me and I mysteriously go missing, there is Zero chance that I'll be found....

Only thing I know, is that back in the late 70s, my grandmother on my father's side was interested in ancestry - this was after the "Roots" miniseries on TV then got interested in their own history.

She spent some time researching (remember, no internet or Ancestry.com back then) and somehow found that one of her (and thus my) ancestors was a lieutenant to William the Conqueror, therefore, I have marauding invader blood in me!

Does she tell you, "hey it's a dangerous world. Things happen. That's a nice car. It would be a shame if something happened to it. " and then charge you viper protection money?

And by the way, wasn't everyone in New Jersey a suspect cause pretty much everyone in jersey is shady? Hahaha...I crack me up.

One of my Aunts did a bunch of research into family history and all that. Supposedly on the one side, we were somehow related to Kaiser Wilhelm II. He's the guy thats kinda sorta responsible for WW1...
On the other side I'm pure Danish. So that means Viking!! Look out!!

My grandfather's brother found out they were 8th cousins of Henry Ford , which meant they both were able to buy a used Ford every once in awhile ----- apparently the cousins just weren't that close, ha. Supposedly there was a connection to Dr. John Pemberton who originated Coca Cola , but then apparently the Coca part was a bit more potent back then and he sold it off for $2500. We took our share of that wealth to the Bank , but they informed us they did not take deposits that small, ha.

That would be the famous Dr. John Pepperton, Blue. Heck , my sister absolutely loves Dr. Pepper , so that would definitely be cooler for her, ha.

Then you're also British royalty. Remember, Wilhem, King George, and Czar Nicholas were all first cousins - grandsons of Queen Victoria.

On my mother's side the family has British/French heritage and has been here since 1740, and on my father's side they immigrated in 1908 from Russia. Nobody famous to note...

    Best history ever...

My dad was a car salesman for many years.....sold Dodges.

I remember him bringing home all the cool muscle cars in the late 60's and early 70's.

I've been hooked on Mopars since.
