    Alarm triggering randomly finally solved

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but I finally found the solution to my alarm going off by itself completely randomly. If this saves only one persons from pulling their hair out, then that's fine.

Long story short, I looked at the hood alarm switch and noticed its o-ring was cracked and slightly slipping out of its groove. Figured out when I washed the car, enough water would splash into hood vents, bounce off the wheel well splash guard and go into the switch. This was causing a short and triggering the alarm system. I ordered a new switch from Dodge and it only cost $17. It had a newer style mount, but I was able to transfer the mount from my old switch to the new one with a bit of work.

Alarm system now works without issue. Sanity restored.

Well that's interesting to know. I'm glad you found the problem and that it was such an easy cheap fix! Where is that hood alarm switch located??

It's located behind the passenger side headlight and directly to the left of the passenger side wheel well. It's a push button switch.
