    GTS-R_GT3-R_ACR-X_COMP COUPE Registry

    Hi all,

Those that are interested in Viper race history may have seen me post a version of this in the Gen II GTS-R picture thread, but I've slowly been working on a database to track the history and whereabouts of various iterations of Viper race cars over the years. I wanted to have a thread where I could continuously post the latest version for those that are interested.

This started out when I came across a list of chassis numbers and brief history someone had gathered on the original ORECA built GTS-Rs. I'd like to give them credit, but I can't recall where I first found the information online. It was incomplete and outdated at the time so I slowly started to update and add to the database. I have since expanded the scope of information for each chassis and added tabs for the Riley Motorsports built Gen V GTS-R/GT3-R and the Chrysler Le Mans Prototype effort of 2000-2002. I was then asked by owners to try and do the same for the Comp Coupes, ACR-X and original R/T-10s that were run at Le Mans in 1994.

No section is 100% complete. I'm always chipping away at it and I'd love to have any information that anyone is willing to contribute that could fill in the gaps or update the current whereabouts of a given car. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

*** New version in website form. ***

str5010, thanks for putting this together. I've seen an older version of the GTSR's. Great to see the latest G5 race cars

As Simms said, happy to assist on the comp coupes, I know 5 of the 127 that are out here in SoCal area (5,6, 92, 121? and one more)

Thanks, maybe I'll just start adding to the comp coupe tab as I see information like this. I'd really like to do some more of the gen II race history as the gen V tab is just about done. I need to track down some of the European race results yet for chassis 2 and 6.

Make a pdf file that would be best I think. I can also help you with some comp coupes in Europe and maybe more.

I used Bluebeam to print/save as a PDF, 11X17 paper, landscape. Worked great.

I'll have to look into Bluebeam, I'm not familiar with it.

Does anyone know which Gen II GTS-R chassis is in the Chrysler museum appearing as the #97 in white with blue GTS stripes and Exxon badging on the windshield? I've heard this chassis was never raced as was used for display only, but it may have still been given a prototype chassis number.

I'm also looking for a site to access race results from the 2016 French VdeV series to get the race history for GT3-R chassis 006 and results from the 2014 European Super GT series to finish this history on GT3-R chassis 002.

I'm also starting at the top of the Gen II GTS-R list and trying to fill in the race history. It will never be all inclusive, but I'll try find all that I can. Haven't added enough yet to justify posting the updated database.

There has been some interest in the Comp Coupes and ACR-X chassis history. I'll have to rely quite a bit more on the community to provide data but I'll do what I can since people want to see it. Not sure if or when we will get to the point of having race histories for each chassis but I'll post up what I have to start sometime this week.

    I'm chassis #77.

I believe Jeff Stout has a good bit of current chassis owners. I'll see if I can get some info from him. Tom Francis is another great source.

Thanks Simms! Earlier today I was told to find Jim Stout - any relation to Jeff?

Here are some general questions I'm still looking for:

    1) How many VCC and ACR-X were produced?

    2) What naming conventions are stamped into each VCC/ACR-X chassis? i.e. "VCC-C01", ACRX-001"?

    3) Were VCCs built new in a choice of two configurations (World Challenge spec/Viper Racing League spec) or were they all built to the same specification and converted by the first owner?

If people are interested in having this information I will be looking for the same things that are in the GTS-R sections - first owner, current owner, any notable history for the car, known liveries the car raced with, any unique configuration changes etc.

I posted the link for the updated database with basic templates started for the VCC and ACR-X.

Jeff is Jim's Son, and owner of Complete Performance Motorsports. He maintains all Jim and Kathy's comp coupes as well as many other VCC owners/racers.

I'll have to confirm, but I want to say there were 127 VCC chassis made. Ranging from the original VRL spec, to selecting options like the World Challenge aero. Tom would know the exact answers to options.

    Awesome thanks for the info!

    Update 4.10.2017

Latest Excel workbook has been posted to one drive.

*Someone had added something to the Excel file on OneDrive on 4.3.2017, but for some reason there was an error and it was erased. Whoever that was please let me know so the information you added can be included again. Thank you*

I reached out to a number of the people that were suggested to me last week, but haven't heard back from anyone yet after the weekend - granted it was a busy race weekend for many people. No new information for Comp Coupes/ACR-X although it looks like one ACR-X has changed hands based on a VOA facebook post - purple/black #86.

I'm still chugging through Oreca built GTS-R race histories which is quite time consuming. I working around chassis C8 and C9 right now.

I posted the latest pdf versions for both eras of GTS-R.

Jeff Stout and Tom Francis both told me there are 127 comp coupe chassis #'s, and the first 125 were built by Dodge, and it sounded like the last 2 were built with spare/leftover parts

Thanks for all your hard work!! Mike

Thanks Mike! I'll add this info after work today. I believe Oreca also built 2 cars to GT2 specification.

Please pm me the details of your VCC so I can add you.

A few years ago i tried starting something like this with the Comp Coupes and Viper Days Cars
At that time not too many were interested in supplying information. Thanks for picking this up.
While your at it, you might want to add tabs for the history, times, tracks, organizations etc..ect..

Do you want to also have old Viper Days cars listed also? If so i can add to your list...

I had this link for a while back. Not all data is included, and may be outdated, but could be a good start for the comp coupes. Especially the ones that went to Europe.

The Viper Days and Speed GT (old world challenge) Comp Coupes would be the interesting ones IMO.

Thanks guys. Haven't had any time to work on the registry for the last few days but will get back on it soon. Personally I'd love to haver every true Viper race chassis included with all the data mentioned, it's just so time consuming to collect, organize and reformat in one place. That doesn't mean I won't try though. In the short term I have to add what people have sent me so far on the VCC and ACR-X cars. I also personally want to finish my first pass through the Oreca GTS-R race histories soon.

Thanks for the heads up on racing sports cars - that's actually where I've found a ton of info so far.

Time for another Monday update, will upload the latest PDFs/excel link shortly.

R/T-10: added some history for the primary orange #40 car.

Oreca GTS-R: added various race results and chassis history to chassis P1 through C10. Still working on C11. Have been speaking to a number of great people involved and interested in the program so that research has taken time away from digging through race results on other cars. Only finding how tricky it will be as some of the results at the time were not accurate. Race teams moved parts/chassis around within the team unbeknownst to whoever originally recorded the information.

    Chrysler LMP: no changes/new info

Comp Coupe: completed the one car that I have all of the basic information for - acrvprc, thanks Mike! Still want to add a picture, but don't want to infringe upon any photo rights.

ACR-X: I've reached out to the people that were suggested within this thread, but haven't made any progress yet in securing race results for the Viper Cup or any more information on individual cars. I'd like to start once I have all the Viper Cup results in one place because that really makes things easier.

Riley GTS-R/GT3-R: nothing new here that I can remember. Still looking for some of the European individual race results if anybody knows a good source. That's all I need to finish this section.
