Dammit, I swear I researched the shit out of the OEM fluid and determined it DOES have friction modifier in it and there is nothing extra to add. Looks like i'll have to go check my research again.. And if i'm wrong then hopefully 12k miles without friction modifier didn't damage anything lmao.... Crying.

I just did a 3:55 swap into my GenIV (Love it!) and I believe the part number I used was 68197927AA and it DID have the friction modifier already in it.

The part number I listed is recommended for 2008 - 2017. As for the GenIII's and earlier I am not sure. They have a different designed limited slip all together so I am not sure if it is recommended.

Brought the pooch on the most recent visit, and had a blast. I think its great for her to get out into some chaos and get used to it. Going to bring her more often now. Only thing I wasn't particularly excited about was people reving their hoopties and backfires. It would scare her all the time. I was torn between acceptance, and remembering how stupid I was at that age, and, wanting to strangle some kids...




My favorite thing about C&C is watching all the kids reactions, it just makes me so happy, hard to explain;

Its been a while. Lets catch up.

Did some maintenance after a track day, had already went through the oil/filter and rear diff so I moved on to the brakes and clutch (since they share a reservoir). There is no easy way to bleed the clutch so I did the ranger method. I also imposed myself into Chris's garage to do the work, per usual, causing sneaky jr to be pushed out into the cold depths of the alleyway.



Up in the air;



Pro tip: Skip the motive power bleeder. Don't be lazy, do it the old fashioned two man pump-the-brakes way. Had nothing but trouble with the Motive, from the poor seal on the reservoir, to blowing through the reservoir too quick and blowing air in, etc. Most of trouble was due to our own stupidity but honestly, when we stopped fucking around and doing it the "easy" way, things went 100x smoother/faster. Started off by removing old fluid from the reservoir, filling back up, and pumping the clutch 100x times. Did that 2x times until fluid was clean. Then bled brakes. Bottom aero tray has to come off for the trans fluid. Fill port is on drivers side, drain is near the tail housing on passenger side. 3.5 qts for the trans until it overflows. Rbf600 motul for brakes/clutch, oem mopar ATF for the trans.




Buttoned up and went for a test drive. Car is shifting like butter after the clutch hydraulics and trans fluid swap. You can always tell when the clutch fluid starts to get contaminated, or moisture builds. It will cause the shifting and pedal feel to become inconsistent as soon as you start putting heat into it. I'd notice I'd go to hit heel/toe or match rev down shift (under braking) after a pull and it would lock me out of gear. In reality, what's happening is the clutch engagement point is shifting relative to the pedal travel. So, while your muscle memory for clutch/shift timing remains the same, the change in engagement point causes you to be out sync and "miss shifts". Clean fluid creates consistency in the system pull after pull. Especially, if you've done a good job thermally insulating all the hydraulic lines in the bay.

One thing we have going for us in the south is year-round driving weather. It was in 60s on Christmas day 2018.

Good weather lets us put on fun toy drives for those (much) less fortunate than ourselves. Here are some pics from a drive we did to Children's Memorial Hospital, bringing both grown-boy toys to look at, and ones for them to keep. Was a tremendous day;

My little nephew loves the Viper so I had to get him his own. He has managed to break every single part off of it in a few days time--keeping his fathers glue gun working over time. He has, at least, been keeping up with my car washing standards. The viper is always present at bath time.

Oh, and forgive the Cowboys hat, his father has no taste.

Here is shot from a few months back when I bought the i3 as my new daily driver. Friends couldn't get over the switch from a new CTS-V to this but I just wanted to try something different. Been 6 months and I still enjoy the i3, excellent daily.



Current stable;



Yin and Yang for sure. Couldn't think of 2 more polar opposite cars to drive, makes for appreciating them both when moving between them;
